I'm looking for a bedroom environment that doesn't look expensive or classy, and I wondered if anyone had any recommendations. Nearly everything I can find that is good quality looks like it's in a mansion or an IKEA showroom, not rumpled and lived in.
Specifically, I'm hoping to find something that could plausibly be the bedroom of the "FG Messy Apartment" environment. FG Messy Apartment which I already have an environment based on.
I work in Blender, and have a large collection of prop assets, as well as the ability to 3d model and do textures, etc, so I can easily customize as needed, but it would be nice to find something that at least sort of fits, so I don't have to make a room and do all of the set dressing entirely from scratch.
I've done some searching around the site and haven't found anything suitable, but I may be using the wrong search terms.
Does anyone have suggestions? Much appreciated. 🙂December 31, 2025 at 6:09 PM #2158235Hello, I recently ran across one but IDK how you might feel about the quality. Seems reminiscent of gen 2 or 3 assets. You might be able to spruce up the textures with that iray texture converter if they're not iray then add some more up-scaled HDRI lighting or something.

this one's not posted, enjoy!December 31, 2025 at 10:07 PM #2158248Consider that what makes 'FG Messy Apartment' look lived-in, shabby, and downscale is the boxiness, the color scheme, the old decor, and the lighting. It isn't light, bright, and glossy. It's brown and green and gray. Yuck.
If you like the feel of the 'FG Messy Apartment', then consider shifting the walls around (it doesn't seem to have separate walls but why let that stop you*) to make a smaller bedroom environment. That way it'd offer the same feel and color scheme as the main apartment. It's really just the dimensions that you need to change.
*For instance, if the walls are essentially a single prop, I would open 'FG Messy Apartment' in the Geometry Editor and delete polys to create separate walls and move them wherever I wanted to form the room I required.
The Collective3D Create A Room sets are pretty handy, too.
Best of luck!
