May 31, 2018 at 7:05 AM #624001Giving my opinion regardless if others don't like it.
First image is cool at first but hiding her face makes it a picture of a gun and looses interest fast.
second is cute and spooky in a weird way so I like it.
third is great lighting and one of my favorite creatures so i like it the best. Sometimes less is more and the black on black works better that I would have expected.
May 31, 2018 at 9:58 AM #624135The 2nd image looks nearly identical to the promo image used for the product but with a little less soft focus.

@evilmonkey - Yep, that promo photo was the inspiration for the whole project and I've pulled some very satisfying results out of some rather simple light and camera work. But as you've pointed it out, I can add I still have not figured out how they did that promo image. It appears to have different skin than what is available in the package as seen in the other promo photos. IE smooth face and freckles as scene here and other promos vs the non-freckled painted appearance of that particular promo image.
June 1, 2018 at 3:28 PM #625511@ladyburger, yeah the promo skin looks too bleached to me, it seems like they've lightened the skin tone or maybe just applied a flat white shader? I like the expression and skin on yours better. The soft focus they just did with the depth of field dial (I think), the point of focus is on the tip of the aliens nose and they have a very narrow depth of field so the focus falls off pretty steeply after that. Giving that dreamy, gazing at you while you sleep look to it.

I actually did that with both the alien renders, but I think I went a little too deep with the falloff as the Grey-type shoulders aren't as softly focused as I'd have liked but still pretty happy with the results as all were rendered in under 5 minutes.
This one took a little longer clocking in at 27 minutes.
