What should i do?
I DL’d ’iRadiance – Light Probe HDR for Iray’ from here but it will not install using Install Manager. Tried unziping and rezipping which usually helps but not this time. IM didn’t even report why.
Do i report it? How? If it's corrupt I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I’m not sure what to do as I am new here. I don’t want to step on any toes. The points don’t matter much to me since Rob's contest awarded me plenty so that’s not an issue. I mostly want to get it installed. If I do it manually it won’t come up right in DAZ. If it was corrupted during the DL how can I know. Has anyone else had this issue? Well, you get the idea.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
January 31, 2018 at 7:18 AM #478957what is the IMxxxxxxxx-0x_name on it? you could try change the -01 to a -02
or fiddle with the numbers just after IM, I had a similar problem with iradiance HDRI variety pack one and I got it to install by changing the first two numbers after the IM to 91 if I remember correctlyJanuary 31, 2018 at 12:27 PM #479206Hello,
you can try to make a new DIM file with the Content Package Assist.
Sometimes the data is corrupted and the installation is not working. Just repak with this program and it will put everything in order.January 31, 2018 at 12:44 PM #479220@Skinklizzard
IM00022993-01_iRadianceLightProbeHDRLightingforIray is the name of the zip.
January 31, 2018 at 12:52 PM #479224If I use the Content Package Assist won't I lose my smart content entry for the package?
January 31, 2018 at 1:16 PM #479242i'm sorry to be not so good with this tool. I used to repack some files, sometimes, but i didn't check if the smart content was integrated in the process...
Maybe someone could have a better answer.January 31, 2018 at 1:22 PM #479244Am I glad that I manually install and don't rely on smart content
January 31, 2018 at 1:32 PM #479254Have a look at the manifest file (in notepad) for the product, it will have a list of install directions for DIM to follow. Then compare the file contents and the manifest against the folders and files listed here (http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/22993/file_list). If any of them are different, then there's your problem.
January 31, 2018 at 4:26 PM #479402@bobdawg I downloaded this one (https://zonegfx.com/iradiance-light-probe-hdr-lighting-for-iray/) assuming its the same download I'd suggest downloading it again and making sure you don't have any custom DIMs installed that are conflicting
as it is showing up fine in my install manager.January 31, 2018 at 5:01 PM #479434ok so I was wrong, the package doesn't install but I figured out why.
Unzip the package and open the manifest.dsx in a text editor,
scroll to the very end of the file where it says </DAZInstallManifest>...
and remove the ...
then save and rezip the package contents and it should work.January 31, 2018 at 10:58 PM #479802@Skinklizzard
Nice! Thank you very much. Worked like a charm. Thank you too to everyone who came to my aid namely @p62dok and @EvilMonkey. I appreciate all of your help. Thank you so very much.
February 2, 2018 at 12:48 PM #481555Ah, I'm glad it was sorted out. And this is a great example of why we don't modify the contents of the base zip when sharing. 😉
