Problem with 3dcu

I'm sorry for bringing this here, but I have no other way to perhaps solve this. I haven't been able to login to https://3dcu.com/ for a couple of weeks now.
Whatever I try to do I end up with this message

SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Connection failed. stream_socket_enable_crypto(): SSL operation failed with code 1. OpenSSL Error messages:error:1416F086:SSL routines:tls_process_server_certificate:certificate verify failed

I can't login, retrieve password, create a new account or contact the administrators. I tried with three different machines and almost all main browsers. I even joined cloudflare and created a new certificate. Nothing works.

Anyone with the same problem? I'm really sad about it, I've been a member there forever.

It's a server side error. Users can't do anything about it I guess. The site is useless if you don't have the premium membership of the filehosts like grouchy said. Login works for me, though.

I haven't been there in years. I even bought a brand new laptop since I last logged in, and yet it says I'm logged in? That's wild.

I was able to grab a package from it w/o the act of intentionally logging in, strangely enough. When I did, I realized why I haven't gone there in so long: They put everything on those 'premium' d/l sites that the pr0n rips use, the sites where you either pay to download, or you can do one ultra-slow download from each one every 2-3 hours or so (and one requires captchas each time?)

They didn't seem to have anything that didn't already come from here or F95, or any of the others... but that's what I found.

Just registered to F95, I can't believe I've never been there before! Still, I really like 3dcu because it has really, really old assets that are not available anywhere else anymore.

most of those links don't even work anymore, trader. You get 404, or "file available for premium members only" or sometimes even the domain doesn't exist.

Yes @3dnoob but, in my experience, they always update the links if you ask in the comments. Sometimes it's the only chance to get something very old.
Besides, I'd very much like to know what the problem is on my end. Perhaps it's a location issue? Anyone else from Europe?

I can 100% understand finding very old stuff - it's hard to do these days.

@trader2h, you could always ask here. I'm not the only one with a hard drive choking collection of old items. There's also those torrents of ancient content that where shared here a few years ago.

@supreme-leech I just can't understand the problem and that irks me. A friend here has been trying so much to help me and it seems that it's a deeper site issue, I just got it worse apparently since I cant login.
It's just that some times you don't know you want something until you see it. I've got stuff stored from the beginning of poser, but the hoarder in me just wants everything 🙂

*chuckle* I get that. One partial solution is to collect freely but when it comes to installing?....that's a whole different kettle of fish (pot of stew, pan of fries, basket of clothes). I've become very fussy about what I install. I'll spend several days thinking about how I'll use it-if I will? I mostly don't install stuff now.

I still plan on fixing up my poser library. I keep Posette and all her stuff still installed. V3, Aiko 3, mavka etc. They're all bundled up in a huge poser library that I haven't accessed for years, perhaps a decade.
Thankfully, when I started with Daz I made sure to install in different databases and only what I really liked. Everything is neat and tidy and I still managed to fill up a 12TB dedicated disk. It's no use, it's a losing battle 🙂

I'm probably lucky on that account. I stuck mostly with Vicky Fourpointtwoplusplus and her massive wardrobe. I skipped G0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and have a bit of G8. I only use a few characters but am big on clothes and architecture, the kind of stuff that's generally light on size. Characters seem to be the largest space hog.

I still love using V4 and genesis 2. They have that illustrative, half toony look I prefer. The other versions didn't manage it as well and G9 completely lost that charm.

I've been trying to make space lately and I noticed that Moussos last characters have different 8K options. I refuse to install any character by them anymore, too much trouble to hunt down the textures to delete them. Except for Ivory that I find truly gorgeous!

Yes, I wish more merchants valued optimisation over bloat.

A well optimised item is usually a breeze to use.
