I tried to log in today and I got a message saying that my IP was banned because of too many login attempts. It only allowed to enter a mail if I had administrative rights. There was no other option to recover my account.
I finally managed to login by accident. I had a private message in my emails and when I tried to go to the message, it allowed me to login.
I got a little panicked, is there any other way to contact someone to regain my account, if I get locked out again?July 4, 2025 at 1:49 PM #2134887Just had that myself.
Appeared to be a WordPress message [legit or not???].Just changed location on vpn and normal login appeared.
Suggest just doing this if you encounter it - might be some dodgy scam attempt... Especially as I have not had any [too many] login issues 🙂July 4, 2025 at 2:10 PM #2134900I fell for it and put my mail, just in case. I hope I don't get in trouble for it.
July 4, 2025 at 6:51 PM #2134920Our failsafe backup is the Discord server. See the invite in the stickies. There's very little happening there but it's always monitored in case someone needs help.
It was created a few years ago when the site was getting an enema and went 404 for awhile. Even if the site gets taken down, the discord server is there to let folks know where to go. We learned our lesson after KAT (Kick Ass Torrents) went down. There was a large gang that stumbled around for months(?) until, one by one, we found this place and made a new home here.July 4, 2025 at 7:11 PM #2134923also had the same issue, seems more like a dodgy wordpress update tho. maybe something went wrong with some plugin to make it go poof... after logging in through a vpn, my normal ip started working again.
July 4, 2025 at 11:23 PM #2134945@supreme-leech I remember the panic when KAT went down, it was so sad and then all the fake sites trying to take it's place. That's why I panicked now as well. I don't know how Discord works but I'll keep the links handy just in case.
July 4, 2025 at 11:34 PM #2134946I don't like Discord as I find it 'fleeting'(?). The larger servers have a lot of traffic and if you're not there taking part you miss a lot of stuff. Our server hardly moves at all so there's no need to check it too often. I'm on a small server for artists that sees a few posts a day and is a great source of information and help. I'm also on a larger server that's Daz's unofficial server. I have to read it a least every day and even then, there can be a hundred new posts in one thread.
I MUCH prefer a regular forum.
I'd recommend joining now before you have to figure it out in a panic. Just remember that you can't share links on it. Discord is pretty adamant about piracy.July 4, 2025 at 11:51 PM #2134948You're right, I'll figure out how it works. I keep seeing Discord and telegram references everywhere. Time to get with the times 😉
