You can buy the entire store for $5 - not $5 an item, $5 total. Info here -
August 12, 2018 at 10:14 PM #713478I also spent the $5 and got the items from the site

I hate to see vendors like this move on, we need more of them.
Many have vanished since DAZ came along and swept up.
It's the predatory business model since the internet boom that pisses me off.
Squash the little guy in every way and stash the cash.
It's the same with internet shopping. I'm surprised the Internet hasn't been renamed 'AmazonBay'August 13, 2018 at 1:50 AM #713627Walmart and Microsoft teaming up for an initial 5 year partnership. Should be interesting to see how it works / how things are different than today.

Ahhh yes. I forgot I barely take Poser for a spin these days so wouldn't know who the content creators are. (Thanks for the link)
I stand by what I said. I dislike DAZ business model, and 50% of an artists sale is sickening.
Amazon will last but on a smaller scale now the trade wars are on the doorstep.
They are also trying to combat the fake stores and fake items, as well as fraud that drives customers away.August 13, 2018 at 9:15 AM #713974Anonymous

Another rinse and repeat marketplace for the masses. Oh well...
August 13, 2018 at 12:06 PM #714138@ethiopia, Poser is running on fumes at this point. Almost all Poser artists have moved over to DAZ. Poser doesn't have any features that make it worth paying money for. imo, the posing abilities of characters (click and drag is so much better than dials and gizmos) in Poser is its one redeeming quality. I suspect DAZ will buy out Poser within the next year or two and (hopefully) incorporate their posing interface into studio. DAZ offering studio for free AND supporting cr2/pz2 files and supporting bridges to 3ds max/photoshop/zbrush has crushed Poser, which got lazy.
Agree 100% about the moderators at DAZ. They seem to think only little old ladies and housewives use their software. Knowledgeable, but pretty draconian. Protecting the brand for sure.

DAZ moderators kill me. I once had a render that the woman was fully clothed but there was a bump where the nipple is... yeah, that pic was removed. I think they are a virtual monopoly living in the 1950's or something! Lol.August 13, 2018 at 9:46 PM #714769It's a shame to see someone have to fold up their independent business but at the same time, the website isn't all that and the products don't look great. I know Daz has some iffy practices but their store looks pretty and it has new shiny products regularly. The only real marketplace to rival Daz's is Renderosity and it's a nightmare to navigate. If someone were to offer up a marketplace that offered artists a large prospective customer base and was pleasant to navigate then Daz would be in trouble. If you run a geocities site with models that you made 5 years ago then your sales might not be great.
