    The Poser Formats folder contains a People folder
    1

    Why does the People folder does not show in my Content Library?

    I'm installing products from the Victoria 4.2 Pro Bundle
    and some of them, such as Elite Life Poses have been packed in a People folder (no Runtiime)

    Poser assets are *ALL* located under the "runtime" directory. There is a "People" directory because you install your poser assets in the same directory as your Daz assets (which is a terrible idea). But, when you look at at the "Poser format" content in Daz Studio, DS only searches under runtime and it display the Poser hierarchy (which is really misleading).
    I would suggest you to install your poser asset in an independent directory and to structure it. For instance, I have a dir where are all my poser assets with subdirs for cloths, envs, props, etc. This way it is (slightly) easier to find what you are searching in the poser assets. Note that you must "add a runtime directory" before it is seen in DS.

    I cover that near the bottom of page 1 in this sticky:

    Manual Install to DS

    Poser stuff needs to be installed in My Library/Poser Runtime/Runtime

    Poser's organization scheme is the worst ever in the history of software.
    Daz's is only slightly better.
    If there was a way to enforce conformity, Smart Content would be the best ever.

    Right now, it's a middle-ground between utility and brain hemorrhage.

    ANSWER:

    the /PEOPLE/ FOLDER IS OUTSIDE OF THE /RUNTIME/ Folder.

    Okay so now what?

    If your poses are for use with POSER, they should be in the POSER CONTENT TAB, in a folder called "Poses"... here is where they should be located to work:

    =======================
    Poses which are *.PZ2 files, should be put into the:
    =======================
    /RUNTIME/LIBRARY/
    =======================
    INSIDE OF THAT SHOULD BE (GENERALLY)
    =======================
    Camera
    Character
    Face
    Hair
    Hand
    Light
    Materials
    Morphs
    Pose
    Props
    Scene
    =======================

    You can still arrange your stuff nicely if you need to by naming the folders something easy and if you need to use them often, you can put an exclamation point at the beginning of it

    for example:

    !V4Poses_X (2022)
    !M4Poses_X (2022)

    The exclamation point will make it move to the top of the list.

    The poses are in .PZ2 format not in .DS or a Daz Studio familiar format, as they would not work in the Poser Content Tab anyway.

    IMPORTANT POINT:

    If the maker of these items did not make them when DS existed you won't find any Daz Studio files outside of the /RUNTIME/ folder.

    I am very familiar with how the Poser Runtimes work, as I started with Poser 3 as a girl and have been involved with both Poser to Poser 11, and Daz Studio since DS1, 2, 3, 3Advanced, 4, 4.1 to 4.6, then 4.7 to 4.10 - followed by 4.11, 4.12, jumping up to 4.20.2 -- And I know WHY each version was released and what changed in each. Okay?

    So if you are not certain of things, you may ask me, and if I have the time, I will explain it for you all.

    For now, hope this answers the question at hand.

    Cheers!

    As poser user for over 20 years now, since P4, I find the poser runtime the most easy and flexible manner to work and organize stuff :

    I always install manually : everything in the product's runtimefolder (except the libariesfolder) goes exactly with original names and paths in my runtime
    (so never change any names or folderpaths in geometries and textures)

    in The librariesfolder you can customize, change rename all categorie subfolders as you see fit ... (only the libraries visible in posers librarypalette (character, props hair, light...)

    for instance in the libraries subfolders you see often names that don't actually mean a thing and are very confusing to locate your items
    eg, character >> "vendor" >> "meaningless folder name" >> "confusing item name" >> " V4" >> "stuff"

    you can rename 'vendor' to anything that is clear and meaningful for you to find your item easily. al the subfolders you can delete and copy your itemfiles to the first renamed folder.

    that goes for all folders which are visible in the librarypalette : figures, props, poses, light , cameras, materials ... heck, you can even put posefiles in character which is sometimes handy for clothing .. load the clothing and choose texture rightaway whithout having to switch library.

    and for organizing stuff in several external runtimes : it's even possible to just cut/paste the librariefolders to another external runtime ... leave geometries, textures etc where you have installed them. no need to copy those along ...

    just moving the libraries will do . and again ... only the libraries visible in poser palette. ( not folders like !DAZ , !morphs ... which are only visible when you open the runtime>>libraries in explorer.

    in every librarycategorie , my folders have the same name, so it's easy to find the pose, prop or material which goes along with a character.

    for external runtimes , keep always the poser runtimestructure ... which in this case of moving/reorganizing runtimes , it is sufficient to create a simple working runtime with only :

    eg.. V4CLOTHINGruntime >>runtime>>libraries >>character>>........ (and all other folders like poses, props, ..."

    for DAZproducts which have a runtime folder : I only use the runtime folder. verify in that folder you have everything like geometries and textures if those are needed for the concerning item. I simply ignore all folder outside the runtime like content, people, data etc ... in 99% of the cases, this works ...

    I think that's pretty damn close to complete liberty of organizing runtimes just the way I want them 😀

    anyway, just wanted to share my experience/workflow with poser 🙂

    Thank you all guys!
    All this information is very useful to me.
    I'm copying and pasting and making notes.
    Only this week I downloaded and installed Victoria 4 manually for the first time (correctly).
    I will find a way to organise that Poserfolder.

    Now I'm looking for some old stuffs for Victoria 4 that I will convert t Genesis 8 if I can (most times it can be done)

    Just like this hair

    Cyber Goth Falls V4

    1

    I paid 50 points for it and I can't access the link.
    Mega hasn't worked for months for me.
    I must have lost 1000 points so far, just to get this error:

    NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

    If anyone has this hair, please can you upload a Mediafire link?

    Thanks again!

    @cybelle - Got it, check your PM.

    Mega is working fine, it has no cert issues currently (or ever lol)

    NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID is a browser safety. That error looks to me like you're using Chrome, this article should help:
