Being a photographer I have an interest in combining my new 3D skills with my collection of photos. Some photos have always felt like they could have used a subject or prop to add more interest and focus. The scene below is from a late night photo session in Vienne, France. A long exposure of a street scene where the lights from passing cars can be seen. I used the EXIF from the photo to recreate the correct camera focal length and then added the female figure. I also used the same photo as a HDRI light source in the render settings. The results are promising and the render was super fast. I will try again with a daytime photo that has a lot less processing and see just how photorealistic I can get the final combination to look. For now here's the first scene.
