27 inch Monitor for Daz
What are your thoughts on this monitor for Daz usage? I want it for playing games too.
LG 27GL650F-B UltraGear 27" Full HD (1920x1080) 144Hz 1ms IPS FreeSync Gaming Monitor
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl650f-bI read 1080p gives a good size user interface for Daz on large screens, but at a viewing distance of a half meter and at the 1080p resolution across a 27 inch monitor the display could look pixelated.
Still good enough?
January 28, 2020 at 11:23 AM #1446075@ethiopia That looks like a really good monitor at about a 10-20 percent price difference.
https://www.monitornerds.com/lg-27ul550-review/The small text on a 4k is the reason I'm considering the 27 inch 1080p. And I wont need to upgrade the graphics card for a while. Apparently the small font has been an issue for years. But it can be overcome with a scaling setting in Windows. I haven't seen it myself. The monitor you have should scale very well with its pixel density at 163 ppi that is almost a perfect ratio increase from the standard 81 ppi on 27 inch 1080p.
I don't have a lot of options to choose from unless I import one, which basically means no manufacturer warranty. Not living that dangerously 😁
Would you go for the 1080p monitor I posted?
January 28, 2020 at 5:20 PM #1446534If only virtual reality shopping was a thing. But then, how would I shop for the headset.
Anyone have experience with a 27 inch monitor at 1080p native on Daz? I'm wondering if pixelation would be an issue.
January 28, 2020 at 5:41 PM #1446556I use 1920x1080 on an Iiyama ProLite B2712HDS
Always a good crisp image with this quality monitor.
🙂
January 28, 2020 at 5:43 PM #1446562Hey that's good to hear!
Thanks Eelgoo ☺️January 30, 2020 at 11:10 AM #1449114I use a Dell SE2717HR that runs at 1920x1024 that I like really well. I run the UI on that monitor (I love having the extra acreage) while the viewport is on an old laptop monitor that I salvaged for just that purpose - mounted it on a swivel so I could rotate the screen to show portrait or landscape.
January 30, 2020 at 11:42 AM #1449164That sounds like a really cool setup. Very handy. I would like to see a pic of how it looks. My second choice for a monitor is the Dell U2719D. But that one is 1440p with a lower refresh rate. Dell has excellent color accuracy. Thanks Tony! ☺️
January 30, 2020 at 12:21 PM #1449223I have 4 screens, and I still only use DAZ on a single one... 27" 1920x1080p is fine, but personally, I would much rather have higher res monitors (all of my 4 monitors are 1920x1080p) - I would preferred to have 4x 2560x1440 screens, or maybe at least one 4k screen as my main, and then have the rest as auxilliary monitors.
January 30, 2020 at 12:49 PM #1449249I'm using two LG 27UK600-W and I can recommend them without hesitation. You get so much screen space from those two 4k panels. On one screen I have my Daz Setup, and on the second one, I have templates or pictures i work from.

Choosing for the gaming side was easy, for the 3D stuff, I really needed your help. I figured since I'm building a pc, it might as well do 3D and gaming too. Can drop the console and just pirate the games 😊I decided on the LG 27GL650F-B.
Here's a cool video where you can see it in action: (It's a recent release, so not a lot of different videos available for it. This one shows a gaming review.)If budget and availability wasn't an issue, I would look at its big brother, the LG 27GL850-B.

In my opinion, it's an ideal 27 inch 1440p IPS monitor running at 144hz, great for graphics applications, even photo editing and gaming too. The only drawback I think, would be small text in Daz, but should scale well using the system's settings. -
