for me i miss going to the book stores that have be gone for along time
and looking in the new papers passing the adds only to make it to the pink pages and in the back
there was a list of things we could do in the city what was free on the weekends
like going to a free stand up comedy show , or free ice cream or or seeing a band thats just starting out beingn at there first gig , simple thingsHow far are we going to go back?
I miss gas for 25 Cents a gallon, manual chokes and fiddling with the damn carburettor.
I miss my first girlfriend and my folks.
Going back earlier....
Summer vacation and heading out on my bike with my friends for the day. Our Moms had packed us lunches and snacks and didn't expect us back before dinner.
An entire Saturday reading Tom Swift books because it was pounding rain outside.
Going out in the rain anyway...on the bike...getting soaked...not caring.
The downtown before the malls killed it.
Saturday morning cartoons.
How amazed we where at our first colour TV.
My best friend's sister. He didn't like having her tagging along with us but I did. (We reconnected through the net a few years ago and still keep in touch. We're all grandparents now but it's fun to reminisce, and we're both still kinda sweet on each other. Sometimes I wallow in a game of "what if?").Decent people with a brain that works..
Intelligent conversation and stores owned by locals with fresh local produce.We have some of that here. On Saturday morning we head to the local farmer's market for groceries and breakfast, then to our CoOp to finish the weekly shop.
We also have that but have to travel a few miles. Going back a few decades everything would be on our doorstep and within walking distance, sadly all gone :/
in the 70s a bag of candy was alot chips and candy
the bag was filled , elevators where a person was manning the controls of what floor you wanted to go too and holding the doors for some one and they said thank you , and family outings
and camping, the good times i miss alot , and that shop the one we would go to that had ice cream and candy , the days of wanting to save up for that one thing and it lasted and well made vs today , do you miss record storesi hope your having a good day

I miss quality, reasonably priced tools. My collection of Craftsman and Snap-on hand and power tools is treasured. I had to use my old, industrial, floor mounted drill press today. It was so enjoyable to use that I almost had a moment.
I miss real paint. Oil based and lacquers are getting harder to find and the latex stuff just doesn't cover.
Real, old fashioned barber shops that catered to men. There's only one left in my city and I love that bit of male pampering. The young guys go at my hair like they're attacking it with the dam clippers and want to finish in 3 seconds. A bunch of us keep telling Bob that he can't retire.
Large piston engined aircraft. Nothing, absolutely nothing is as awe inspiring as not just hearing but feeling a Lanc on it's take-off roll.
Steam trains. I once got to ride on the footplate of a large steam engine for an hour. It was like riding a dragon! I was a stinking, sweaty, smelly, dirty mess at the other end but WOW!....what an experience! I would take my kids to the side of the tracks regularly when that historical train was passing by. They loved it too!
And yes, the old Zonegfx.
During Halloween as a kid. we would go blocks away trick or treating without parents.
I could shoot my BB gun in the back yard.
We cooked food on a stove instead of a microwave.
It was normal to buy coke in glass bottles.
Gas stations washed your window and pumped your gas.
Cars didn't require an engineering degree to work on.
Star Wars was actually good.
Zeppelin and Floyd wont be equaled.
80s movie are some of the best.
I'm sure there are a ton of bad things. The good ole days were rarely good for everyone. Crap really started going down hill after 1999. I did enjoy Princes music. Speaking of which MTV actually played music.
I miss the *now* that we be missing *Very much* in 4-7 years.
I also miss a lot of the above.

I miss many things. Others, I'm glad they're over. There are many good things mentioned here already, so to avoid repetition, I'll say I miss the world before social media.

Chuckle, there's a couple of junkyards in my area that still allow this. A few months ago I had to comb some junkyards to get a pair of doors for my 2008 Civic coupe. The window rails near the top rear corner where quite rusty. I didn't see why that was a fail but I wasn't going to argue with him since he's great otherwise. It's the wife's go-to-work special and I'm determined to get it to a half million kms...only 80K more to go! Other than the doors, she runs perfectly. It's funny that I've never seen rust there on any car.
