Yep, I can't afford 3090s, but I intend to sell all five of my Quadro P4000 cards and use the money to get two of the 3080s. The amount of CUDA cores the 30XX models have is crazy good. Heck even going to a 3070 would be a HUGE improvement for a lot of folks.
I originally put together a customised system on the Scan UK website.
My wishlist then included a Quadro RTX 6000 [still pricey, but a hefty saving on the 8000].
I have just redone the spec - but with two 3090's.This system now comes in at at least £3000 lower than the Quadro.
That also includes an i9 14 core / 2x2Tb Evo M2 drives and 128Gb ram.i know which option I'm saving up for..... 🙂
Looks like both kidneys are going and all 3 kids too!
Probably best to keep one kidney, and try to rent the kids out on long term [keep swapping to the highest bidders], then sell off when you have your system.... 🙂
