Feel free to point and laugh at me, but I'm genuinely concerned that NFTs will be a horrible, terrible thing. How long before someone with an army of lawyers buys an NFT and then sues the hell out of anyone who has anything that looks similar to the NFT. Example: Someone buys an NFT of a 3D model in a specific pose and they sue because you used the same 3D model in a similar pose. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I could see it happening.
I'm definitely not an expert of all that blockchain hype bull so I might be wrong...
The point of NFTs is that they are unique (non-fungible as in not exchangable) so what you buy is an image or tweet or whatever that nobody else can have. So if somebody would sue you for having their image it is easy to cryptographically prove you don't.
So to sum it up NFTs are a way to sell your renders not your 3D models. Meaning DAZ can turn their gallery into a place to make money by charging fees for every image that gets sold on their site.I think they are also giving you the full 3D models alongside the artwork that they've produced with it. It's like: "Look at this moving beautiful 3D art, you can have the full video and the photoshop file + all the assets that were made with." It will just cost more than usual 3D figures in the Daz Store. Why are you all losing your minds over this????
Not losing anything, just genuinely puzzled as to what they think is so dynamic & wonderful about this 'New' thing. :0/

I wouldn't call it losing our minds. It is more trying to understand what Daz is up to now again.
As this whole NFT thing (blockchain people selling digital stuff to oblivious people) is completely hyped at the moment like ICOs (Initial coin offerings -> blockchain people selling the first coins of their fancy new fantasy currency that might become a thing to oblivious people) were some time ago.We entered a new era in modern art.
we used to see people buy meaningless artworks.
now it's timing for new ridiculous things.As I understand it the only thing you are buying with NFT is the token showing that you bought the NFT. The copyright and right to distribute and redistribute, an image in the case of Daz, remains with the original artist. The NFT acts as a certificate of authenticity for that content, ie. that it exists not that you own the actual image.
Like the stock market, buying these tokens is based on the speculation it (the NFT) can later be sold or traded for a higher price than you paid for it.
In the case of Daz Corp. it seems the artist will get some real money and Daz will take a slice of that. In general these schemes, again like the stock market, are based purely on the confidence that NFTs (or stock shares or bitcoin) have some intrinsic worth in dollar terms. Like in 1929 when that confidence goes away they may become worthless.I'm wondering if this means you get every thing in the scene or just the rendered image animation
Unlockable content includes: 1080p uncompressed video (.mov), original high resolution PSD (3840x2160 pixels) leveraged for the animation, as well as 3D assets inspired by or used in this render.
"3D assets inspired by or used in this render" could range from all assets including custom morphs, textures etc. to one candle asset that looks like the one in the far corner of the image you bought...
I might take a look to see what I can put up there over the weekend - but most likely won't even bother with it. All of my art (that I wish to share) goes to deviantarts (or other sites).
NFTs will hopefully be nothing more than a fad; the extreme (far too reduced) summary is that someone married blockchain to DRM and came up with this scheme.
It is nothing more than a DRM scheme that has profit potential, truth be told. Not much different than buying a digital tractor for Farmville, or buy power-ups for Candy Crush. The thing you bought has no intrinsic value outside of the specific and explicit use for which it was built, except with NFT it's now locked down and cannot be re-purposed.
I think DAZ wants NFT adopted to eventually make it so that you cannot copy and share assets that it does not want you to share. This means you won't be able to export it unless they let you do so.
