You may be better starting off using the DIM installer, if you are coming new to the program.

August 14, 2018 at 11:31 PM #716212As an alternative to manual installation, here is what I do...
I use Content Pack Assist to load any files into Daz. There is a tutorial here, but basically you plug in a prefix such as REN (for Renderocity), a number of your choosing, and the software creates the file type that the Daz Install Manager (DIM) wants.
I like the Daz Smart Content tab - ALOT! Most stuff in the past couple /three? / few? years from Daz are already Smart Content Compliant, so a big part of my job is already done.
I don't care for Genesis 1 and 2 content. I started Daz only a year ago and made a decision at that time to start with a G3 base and ignore anything below that. I invest my time and money into G3, and now also into G8.
For those items that are not Smart Content Compliant already, like third party Renderocity, I create metadata such as in this tutorial - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/20018/metadata-tutorial-adding-new-items-to-your-smart-content
It is just my preferred method, not better than what Eelgoo does, just a different way.
