Hey guys I'm getting a new PC.
My current PC is garbage so I can only render in 3Delight.
I'm building my new PC so I can finally start working with Iray.
I've been watching videos and looking for components for the last week
and I made a list.Would you guys check my list
and let me know what you think?I chose those parts because I think they are all compatible
and also because I found a store here with decent prices.Notice Im getting 32gb memory RAM because I think the more ram the better for daz.
I think I'm..."overrammed"?Anyway, I'm getting a Ryzen 5 5600G at this time (it has graphics built-in)
and NO GPU at this time because I'm on aa budget.
In about 6 months I'll be able to add a RTX 3060.Ok that's it.
Let me know if you can think of better options for me.

3. RAM 32GB (2X16GB) DDR4 3200 MHZ KINGSTON FURY BEAST

RAM: Some would say you are "underrammed" 😀 but 32GB is sort of a middle ground for Daz.. 64GB would be nicer to have.. (I have 32GB)
MB and Processor: Try for a Ryzen 7 if possible.. but the Ryzen 5 is also a good one (mine is a Ryzen 7 5700G on a B550MK)
PSU: The 80+ Bronze is fine, but make sure its a modular one.. saves space and reduces clutter..

I know you say that you on budget and cant get GPU, but DAZ3d needs Nvidea GPU to do iray. Save up and get the absolute best Nvidea GPU you can get. in 6 months the new 40xx series gpu available and that might be same price as 3060 now? my point is don't buy a computer until you can afford GPU
Ideally yes, I'd get 64gb ram (why not the whole 128gb?),
a Ryzen 9, a RTX 40something and a mother X570 with lots of disippation.
But I live in Argentina. Nothing is cheap here.
When the global prices go down, prices go up here.

I got myself a AMD9950x3D with Nvidia 5090. 64gb Ram. Pc never uses the full 64gb
But my Daz does have difficulties to start. Might it be that my library is to big? should I restart from scratch? Any tips on how to best setup DAZ from scratch?DS wants Nvidia VRAM. You can use a seperate SSD for DS libraries.
Clearing out content you don't use will help, and all those morphs slow down studio.I've always built my own computers starting with a 286 CPU about a million years ago. I have no recommendations on hardware but I WILL recommend WHERE you get your components. It may cost a little more but a good, long established, highly recommended, reputable brick and mortar store is the best place to shop. They depend on word of mouth and will provide stellar service long after the build. Talk to the local gamers as they usually know where to go. Any commercial IT folks are also in the know. My local shop has been in business since the PC boom started, is always willing to do deals and has a back room full of used commercial stuff and trade-ins.

Western Digital always come out on top and I've never had one fail.A fun tip....keep your old computer for online stuff and use the nifty new one for graphics. That lets you do stuff online while your graphics computer grinds away at a render. I keep my graphics computer offline and transfer stuff via a USB stick. Use good monitors for the graphics computer and older ones for online. A KVM switch will let you use the same monitors and mouse/keyboard for both computers.

I'd agree with @Ethiopia about MSi motherboards. Earlier in the year, I got a new computer and MSI z890 thomahawk motherboard. I have 128gb of RAM, but can support upto 256 GB of RAM (if I want to upgrade in a year or two - depends on prices of single 64GB ram slots)
One thing that important have at two hard drives on your PC. An SSD for operating system and program files. And then other being being for everything else. I have 10TB SATA hard drive.
With regards to the graphics card - I used an old RTX 3060 for a few months before I brought the RTX 4070 16GB that I have now.
Since hard drives seem to last forever (for me....so far), I drag them along on upgrades. Both of my computers have four LARGE drives which gives me lots of room for storage and backup. My *stuff-we-don't-talk-about* collection defies description. The older drives go into Sabrent drive caddies to act as redundant storage and archive (not doing that RAID stuff again).

When I eventually get back to the UK permanently I will have a go at a new desktop - have to make do with laptops for the time being, but still have fairly high end specs.I remember along time ago, and probably in a galaxy far far away, fitting a 286 emulator into an Atari STFM, with a 16Mb memory upgrade. That was when the best Pentium available was a DX2-66.
Ah! The good old steam days... 🙂
