new daz user

Im a former Poser user due to being neglected. Im very bad at DAZ. Im hoping if theres someone willing to help me out understanding DAZ.

I would start by watching some tutorials on YouTube by The WP Guru.

I did that jump many years ago.

You might find it easier to forget relating Poser to Daz Studio & learn it from scratch, using the potted lessons included with the install.
That should get you off the mark at least.

Thanks but even with tutorials, I'm still slow at it. I used Poser for 6 years and I'm still very unskilled. And Daz is well more advanced.

BTW.. DAZ isn't that complex once you start from scratch.. its easy to pick up..

From memory it took me a few months to work out what I was doing in DS. When you have the GUI the way you want it save it in case you screw it up (easy to do)... you can then just re-load it.

Parmy Baddhan has some good yt vids including a 3 part beginner set as well as how to use a lot of the more useful tools in DS. Just search his name on youtube.

One bit of advice I'd definitely give to beginners is DON'T load a bunch of morphs into DS. You'll slow your load times to a crawl. It's tempting since you can get thousands of characters and morphs for free from sites like this, but, in the end, you'll regret it.

The second bit of advice I'd give is learn blender. It's better than DS is just about every way and you can use all the DAZ products in it by importing/exporting. If you have to learn either from scratch, blender is the way to go. But DS is much easier to learn imo.

Thanks for the advises but before I even make the "jump" I have to consider these very issues.

Whats the ideal computer to operate DAZ? I know rendering there requires a lot of time.

Theres way to many content to figure out which is compatible with certain figures. Ex: Can Genesis 8 clothes work with Genesis 3 or below figures?

DAZ is by all means complex. Last time I tried to use it, it "crashed" on me constantly. Thats but one situation. Im hoping these someone who can help me out all the way and not leave me behind.
