I don't think they bought any of it. All leached from somewhere like nearly all of the sharing sites. We here might be unique in that regard.
If the website host their content using a file hosting site that requires a premium account. They're just leech sites that re-upload content.
Sometimes it's done sloppy enough where the text files of where they leeched the materiel from will be in the download.
Some sites use Telegram groups to share, but those are also likely to be leeched content.
Typically the original source sites will have a registration requirement and might use non-payment required file host / torrents and if done well, have a system to track and identify leeches by amount down vs up'd
That's a point I've always wondered about. Many of these items are commercial and quite expensive. I've looked at some of the interiors and they start in the hundreds of $$$. I've grabbed a few of them over the years, usually from some Russian site (Foxter.ru) and found them to be crap. The meshes may be fine but it looks like they've been run through someone's computer in Asia because everything is in Chinese (or some Asian language) and the links to textures and other maps don't work. In many, the items where all one huge mesh! I set about separating all the items in one ornate room I desperately wanted in Blender, but finally gave up, it was just too much fussy work.
I thought that all the files must have been stolen or hacked from the original site since no one is going to offer them for free.I've gotten three files from DesireFX, one a night and found that two are free ones from a sketchup site. Going through the Sketchup site looking at interiors I've seen lots that I recognized from DesireFX. The guy's a real piece of shit and I've emailed the Sketchup site about DesireFX. In each zip file are a bunch a advertisements for DesireFX including their Telagram link.
I been using the different sites almost daily. I have noticed ZoneGFX and 3D-stuff tend to be slightly unique from each other. I have found different content from both sites and some newer content ends up on each platform quicker than the other. ZoneGFX though gives a free 100 points daily and 3D-Stuff will add some content for free. Only con with 3D-Stuff is Qtyfiles will most likely force a subscription due to it locking many/not all downloads for a premium account. As for 3D-Load, Shadowcore, and Render-State. They don't require an account or points, but are less likely to have recent content and rarely get content before ZoneGFX and 3D-Stuff. These sites get random updates and on average update weekly with only a few downloads, but don't require a point system or account. figured I do a follow up after using them.
Shadowcore & 3D-Load, upload every couple of days, usually a page or two each time, Render-state uploads two or three times a week, loading 4 to 8 pages each time, I've found Render-state to be good for Environments & Iray shaders, some of there stuff goes way back.
But you'll find the new stuff here first...Render-State is sometimes a good backup if the zgfx links are dead. Just about everything they have they originally got from here.
Hello everyone and many thanks to Frank for helping me find some new things in Daz to practice. On the other hand, I am thinking if I can transfer my 3D character created in Daz to Blender and use an architectural software, for example in my case Revit, since I have a lot of building projects and transfer it to Blender. In the end, everything comes together in Blender and I can render and finish the final touches there, so I can have new material for the environment, be it a house, a shopping center or a school.
PD: I am new to this world of 3D design, just yesterday I started researching about all of it and so far I am fascinated by everything that one can do with the right tools and practicing to gain experience.@joshua2024, Browse the Daz forums and read up on the Diffeomorphic tool that's under constant development. i used to have an account in 3d-stuff.community, but for some unknown reason, i was removed. the site is convoluted, and now there are no sign-up links.
