Missing/Deleted Messages?

Recently, I was going through the backlog of requests/messages I had trying to collate all my resources from scratch due to some computer issues recently.

However, when I went to go back through my messages, I found that the messages only went back to March 2024, when I am certain that I have messages that stretch back to 2023. As such, it seems that the majority of them were deleted.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Is there a potential way to get back old messages? Any and all clarity is appreciated. I also couldn't find an answer on this in the FAQ, so I hope I am asking my question in the right venue! 🙂

My points history only goes back to January 13, 2024 so I guess they did some spring cleaning, or scurryfunge when the site needed fixing.
I delete my messages after reading them so I don't know about those.

Since this site started (a million years ago?) Hunter would regularly ask folks to delete all their histories and messages to clean up the database and save space. I'm assuming that this happens automatically now although I still delete messages after reading them.

It might be backed-up somewhere though I doubt it.
