For DAZ-based contests, the creator should probably define if post-work is allowed and what is allowed under post-work. A question that I think is currently not answered is: can I make a render in DAZ and use AI as post-work? Does using a feature in Photoshop that integrates AI count as having used AI?

Another minor suggestion is that I think it would be nice if the number of active submissions is shown in the Contest Hub, somewhere here:

Thanks for the feedback, we will implement the submission counter to the contest card section 🙂

I updated the DAZ contest rules >> You are allowed to use post-work editing (like Photoshop), but Generative AI (like completely regenerating a face or background) is NOT allowed! If you want to use Generative AI, please enter the AI category contest. 🖌️🚫🤖

And PLEASE make security checkbox appear less often. I can't post 2 requests in a row because of it, it's really annoying to click it every 5 minutes and to write all the texts on requests all over again.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of post-work in contests. More often than not, I’ve seen post-processing end up overshadowing the render itself, turning what might be a mediocre render into something that looks exceptional. What really interests me is seeing what DAZ Studio is capable of on its own and how far artists can push its limits.

I’m also curious about how AI-generated submissions are judged. From my limited experience, AI images almost always look beautiful with very little effort involved—aside from maybe fixing some body deformations. So, how do you decide one is better than other?

The community will decide. After the submission deadline, there will be a voting period. The artwork with the most votes wins 🙂

@john09 , I agree I don't like seeing post work I'd rather see what the person can do with just Daz or Poser .

I would rather see the art polished but I get that some want to see DAZ to the fullest. I can't be certain but I think most of the post work can be done inside DAZ with camera effects but it's going to be a lot of work because you'll have to wait for the render to make adjustments.

For you guys that want something specific, looks as though you will be able to create your own art contest and I would imagine you can set the criteria to fit what ever you want.

    Some changes done
Also, remember: if there is a tie in the vote, the person who submitted earlier will win. 😄

Post work has ALWAYS been part of one’s artistic process. Sure, some lay it on too thick, but we can’t just go around asking/expecting artists to change up their creative process when it’s probably been something they’ve done for years.

As far as Ai goes… That’s not my area of expertise. I never got into it but I’m also curious as Ai images are usually “Perfect”.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of post-processing. While I understand that postwork can enhance an image and is a valid part of many artists’ workflows, I find it more interesting to see what someone can achieve using only Daz itself. Seeing a render created primarily within Daz lets me appreciate the artist’s skill with lighting, composition, materials, and scene setup. It shows how effectively they can use the tools inside the program rather than relying on additional editing afterward. For me, that makes the result feel more authentic and highlights the creator’s ability to get the most out of the software.

I have a few questions. How does the voting work? Anyone who wants to vote can or just those who added to the pot?

Seems like some don't like post work and you can submit multiple entries so would it be a good idea to post both the post work and the original?

    EDIT: Found the voting answer...
