Hi all. I'm wondering if there's a way to adjust settings such that when I merge subsets, the scene that I merge doesn't override the environment settings for the first scene. I often uncheck the boxes when I save a subset for a character, yet when I merge, the second subset's environment settings take over.

To clarify, I load a scene with Sarah. It's got an HDRI and some other stuff. I decide to put Jill in the scene, so I merge the Jill subset with the Sarah subset. When I created Jill and saved it as a subset, I unchecked everything, environment, etc. I just saved Jill. Yet my HDRI from the Sarah subset goes bye bye and gets replaced with something else. How can I keep the HDRI from the original subset I loaded when I merge Jill into the scene?

Character should be saved alone in one subset. Environments should be saved alone in another subset.

For environment options/tonemapper option, don't uses subset. Go to Files->Save As->Render Setting Presets

Everything should always be saved individually so this kind of error dosnt appears.

    Useful advice.

Slightly different, but this is the way I do it.

I always save the props, including any backgrounds as a scene.

Characters I save individually as character dufs.

Any character's hair items & geografts as one wearable duf.

Their outfits as another separate wearable duf.

So one click for the scene & 3 clicks for each character.

What are your settings in Preferences > Content?

Have you reviewed your settings for Replacement Management and Native Format Loading?

Perhaps also Preferences > Scene > On "Load".

Could be a factors. Just a guess. I don't know your level of experience.

That could come in handy for sure. I use the same HDRs all the time with a culling camera and stock photos for backgrounds over windows.
