Well, today we have the rather cute Kaylee.

I'm begining to wonder if we will get a Mei Lin 8.

I would have thought she would have been a popular one, & I'm surprised we don't already have her.

Perhaps they are saving her as the grand finale for the Genesis 8 line?

I would hope to see her soon so I can start some projects but maybe they are saving the best for last. Surprised she hasnt made it out yet. Seeing how shes one of the ones I want the most maybe they are pushing the other stuff first to sell before she takes all our cash.

Mei Lin 7 was great even though DAZ can't decide if she's Chinese or Japanese.
The name obviously being Chinese but a lot of the outfits being Japanese ???

BTW the Chinese aren't great fans of Japan, the older generation anyway, and they'd vomit if they saw a Chinese girl in a Japanese outfit.

Make her something else. Thai or Cambodian.

    Lin is Chinese right?

    Yep Lin is Chinese.

    MEI (1)美, 梅fChinese
From Chinese 美 (měi) meaning "beautiful" or 梅 (méi) meaning "Chinese plum"

    LIN林, 琳m & fChinese
From Chinese 林 (lín) meaning "forest" or 琳 (lín) meaning "fine jade, gem".

beautiful jade is what Mei Lin means so I've been told.

Agreed. Mei Lin 8 would be great (no issues with Teen Kaylee 8 though). I am in the same boat with Lilith 8 - starting to think she may not make the Gen 8 cut as well.

    SDL.

Just by the pronunciation Mei Lin you can get plenty of combinations.

However, mei lin also exist in orthodox Japanese Naming.

    Mei can be 明/芽衣/愛衣/芽唯...

    Lin can be 鈴/凛/倫...

so, Mei Lin can be either side, but not that specific.

    Ah Good stuff!
Thank you for these highly appreciated cultural contributions. Is Daz/Poser popular in Asia ? (well known but rather looked down in America and Europe)

There are lots of Poser sites especially in Japan. I wish more for a G8F version of Miki kind of character(one of the Smith Micro figures).

Thank you for the information, so there may be a specific market. However note that Japan and Corea are currently very trendy in Western Europe (particularly in France). Do not know about the current perception of Asia in Utah (Daz Studio base)....

In the interim, texturing aside, I think the DY / DYYS characters are a good & somewhat varied take on oriental ethnicity.

Interesting, multiculturalism is a bonus in our "activity".... and Japanese porn is "peculiar" (for Westerners at least).

I agree and I understand, variety is the spice of life.
However note that Western pornography can be really extreme (not on the bland modern porn for all net) : if you can read Sade in French (translations do not convey the true darkness and thrills of Justine or Juliette) you are in for a shock, but is really only for "educated" adults with an understanding of 18th century history and litterature...

Very true. My laziness shines through once again.

    @ethiopia

There were lots of Japanese fan sites churning out Poser stuff as far back as 2004 if memory serves me well. People like Billy-T and Batlab seem to have hung up their gloves along with a lot of other Poser creators. A real shame because they brought something unique to the scene.
