It was the MegaDownload program that froze up on me. Started using the MEGAsync app this weekend and it works great. Speeds are a bit hard to judge as the fluctuate quite a bit during a download but look to be faster than directly downloading the files from megs.
I too use Megasync to d/l larger files (actually most files from here)
Advantages for me are I can just add files to the queue and download later, I can limit bandwidth usage to allow me to do other things while downloading.
Do note that some antivirus programs will see it as a threat, but it seems ok to me.
(I've run checks on network activity etc.)
