October 15, 2017 at 12:26 am #361955Thank you. I think I'll give MD a shot. Looks so fun! Is it really hard to learn?
October 15, 2017 at 8:42 am #362189@miarka it is easy to learn. iam able to create simple textured cloth for Genesis 8 and Genesis 3. If i can do it, you can do it.
October 15, 2017 at 12:35 pm #362351How depressed would you get if "everyone" could do it but you couldn't?
October 16, 2017 at 12:11 pm #363099uploading now CGElves - Mastering Marvelous Designer "Beginners Course"
@Miarka Marvelous Designer has to be the easiest 3d creation software going 🙂October 16, 2017 at 12:26 pm #363109Maybe someone can help me out. I signed up for a free trial of MD a year or so ago. The trial ended, and now I can't seem to get around this at sign in, no matter what version or cracks I use. Anyone got a suggestion? I enjoyed using it during the trial and the Garment Maker modifier in 3DS Max is just not the same; I can't wrap my head around it.
October 16, 2017 at 2:12 pm #363168@Rob have you blocked inbound and outbound on firewall?
October 16, 2017 at 4:47 pm #363281@whyme & @bushman2017 : Now, I'll definitively give it a shot!
October 16, 2017 at 5:00 pm #363294@bushman2017 Yes. Blocked inbound and outbound and replaced files that the directions in the readme said to replace.
I suppose I can just get better at Max or learn to use ZBrush.October 16, 2017 at 9:30 pm #363464Excellent suggestion @not-hunter. I'll try that. Thanks!
February 8, 2018 at 9:23 pm #488785Thanks so much for this. I'm just getting ready to start messing with the program and am happy to have some patterns etc., but how do you import them into the program, is that with these files or in the tutorials (I'm downloading the beginner and advanced set from here now). Or is this the tutorial they have on the site for "tracing" that I need? I'm assuming this upload does not include the actual garment files?
Also, am I correct to assume that if you use these assets to create an outfit, other than the textures maybe, you could sell them, right? Like there would be no way to know how you created garments I assume.
February 8, 2018 at 10:10 pm #488816I may try this just so I can make some Jedi robes
February 9, 2018 at 7:10 am #489215@merlina yea you could feasibly sell them, with selling clothing though its more a case of not being the same or too similar to clothing already available rather than what you used to make yours (from what I understand of Daz and rendo anyway)
February 9, 2018 at 7:49 am #489249It's a lot of work to make the clothing work well in DAZ after you make it look ok in MD, especially if you want it to be Dforce compatible which seems to be all the rage currently.
Once you try to make clothing work in any kind of kneeling pose you will know the pain 😀 This is especially bad for things like robes, capes, long cloaks, full length dresses... you'll notice there aren't a lot of those items around, and if you check them out, they're normally pretty poor at leg bending.
That all said, both DAZ and rendo are full of women's underwear, and it must sell because there's constantly more and more of it, and it's easy to make.
February 9, 2018 at 11:39 am #489408The dForce compatibility is actually not so bad and mostly has to do with how you export it and what your settings are in dForce. Getting things like capes or dresses with drapes out onto the arms to look just ok without having to run dforce is a pain though.
