So, I came across a really beautiful dress made with Marvelous Designer 11 and I thought I'd give it a shot. When I went to get a copy I came across a little info buried in the comments. Apparently in some cases it wipes out the disk it's installed in. Complete wipeout!!!
Anyone here used it? They give a solution but I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and I'm really scared to use it.April 11, 2022 at 8:50 AM #1794555Anonymous

I got the feeling it was the devs spreading that story because I use MD 11 and haven't had any problems at all.
It's alleged this drive wipe happens when you assign a scratch disk for autosaves. I use one for both Zbrush and Photoshop on a seperate drive because they can write a lot of data on your SSD C drive shortening it's lifespan.
Here's one comment that should take the fear away 🙂
"Installed and it works fine. Slow startup btw.
For Autosave folder, choose some empty folder, no issue"April 11, 2022 at 9:02 AM #1794559Complete BS. I have used a few distros out there, all work to some degree (some parts are broken in some).
I put together a fully working current version by hand, and uploaded it a few weeks ago. It was silently deleted from the queue, so maybe this is why.

There are a ton of comments about this at CGPeers and I got spooked.
Here's some of the comments and the suggested solutions, but I can't follow.Has the hard drive wipe glitch been fixed? is anyone brave enough to install this on a scratch drive and test? lolol
How to trigger this? I have changed the auto save "File Path" in "Default Files" to another drive, everything is fine
Edit: OK, I can confirm this issue, it WILL delete ALL your files in the last level of "File Path" you specified, for example, you set "File Path" as "E:/TEMP/auto", then when you close the program it will delete all file in "auto" folder include the folder itself, but in general when you set the "File Path" property it will automatically add "Autosave" to the path's end as last level, so it should just deletes the "Autosave" folder.
[[I think this is not crack related, MD10 also has this issue]
The solution is simple, just don't change the path or set it to an empty folderdoes not wipe drives!!
It deletes files and the folder you set it up to use in "File Path". AKA a temporary folder.
So choose a temp folder and a sub folder, and problem should be none existent. AKA:
File path: d:/temp/Marvelous/cashe
The folder + content of "cashe" will be deleted, nothing else.
Stop being paranoid people, just think where your file path ends up.April 11, 2022 at 12:09 PM #1794672Anonymous

The program is just doing what any well behaved program should do; clean up after itself. I wonder if this didn’t start because someone mistakenly designated the temp file someplace they shouldn’t have.
It's a known unfixed bug apparently. Sounds a bit like DS :p

@ethiopia That rings a bell. I think I actually have those but never installed the program. Let me check in the morning and I'll let you know.
