So not straight forward then. :0/
OK Thanks for the info.

April 23, 2022 at 4:46 PM #1799386@eelgoo Anyway, I recommend working with Daz Version 10, which, although the script works on 20, is much less of a RAM hog. I work with animations of about 7000/8000 frames, and with DS10 it consumes about 500Mb, while with DS20 it eats 12Gb of RAM! 😀
As of version 14, it was crazy... In plugins, disable unused ones, for example, the useless Filament, and things you hardly use... I never use Dforce for simulations. Slow and after a few minutes the suit and your head explode! LOLApril 23, 2022 at 4:53 PM #1799388I know what you mean.
As I am only interested in single frame renders though, I avoid dforce anyway.
I would rather have a decent set of pose morphs for the garment.🙂
April 23, 2022 at 11:57 PM #1799470I just recently found my way into MD myself. I am surprised how easy it is to use but as always, unless you are using the basic genesis figure, everything you try to bone using utility transfer turns to shit. There are workarounds but without spending an additional 2 hours and potentially breaking several morphs in your library, it is hard to get things to 'fit'.
That is perhaps why most character morphs don't differ that much in body types.
Sorry, I don't have a helpful guide but rather a forewarning if you are looking to make clothing that differs greatly from the V8 M8 norm.
EDIT: PLUS afterward you have to weight map it correctly so when you raise arms the mesh doesn't break at the armpits.
IN conclusion it is probably better to avoid using MD clothing unless you are knowledgeable in fixing several mesh problems.

Thanks for the input.

99.9% of the times I ask about an impressive clothing in the galleries I hear the same answer. They make the sim in MD and export just for the image in a specific pose. It breaks my heart hearing it, every single time 🙂

I think I still have it tucked away in a drive somewhere.
For anyone interested CGElves is a master at MD and you can learn a lot.
Getting clothes from MD to DS is another task. Fugazi or FG as he calls himself did a good tutorial on porting clothes. I tried it with some success. -
