Honestly by us complaining here about it instead of just ignoring their petty attempts to break us, we are giving them what they want. Image gets deleted? Ok, so be it. You can still find images of the asset another way instead of needing it to show here in the gallery.
Don't give them the win, just ignore them, that's what they hate the most: If their petty attempts fail to break our morale
March 16, 2023 at 9:06 AM #1941832There was a comment in a thread recently about
imgbox.com
Any problems in using this one? Any experiences with it? Suitable or not?🙂
March 16, 2023 at 11:51 AM #1941888imgbox.com ?
Any image service that does not bend over to so-called "copyright claims" would be a welcome change.
March 16, 2023 at 11:25 PM #1942080I use imagebox but only to link my art showcase images. Don't know about their policy on take-downs but might be worth a try.
March 17, 2023 at 4:02 AM #1942147Maybe Ethiopa but I don't think it works that way. I doubt the image host takes the time to authenticate whether or not a complaint has veracity. It's probably more like they take-down with every complaint they receive, to be on the safe side. I can't see them having enough staff to go chasing down a particular image and tracing it back to its origin or even if in fact it was posted on a sharing site.
If XGFX had a dedicated server with which to store/link images we could overcome the current problem.March 18, 2023 at 6:25 PM #1943057I did my own image for the most recent upload and its been removed, no copyright there!
So it won't matter if use theirs or your own.
March 24, 2023 at 12:52 AM #1945763I'm wondering why we don't just use Bunkr.ru as an image host. They clearly support hot-linking of images, e.g. this one:

And in this hot-linked form there's none of their adware/porn garbage, so it would seem to work just fine for product images.
Given their resistance to DMCA takedown requests, I imagine that would keep our product images up for a long, long time.
Unfortunately the "Add Post" feature blocks any attempt to use URLs that don't begin with either postimage.cc or imgur.com, so that restriction would need to be loosened a bit to allow bunkr.ru.
March 24, 2023 at 6:26 AM #1945844@queensknight That's the plan and the update of the posting form is already in progress 😀 🤞
The experiment with Bunkr as a file and image host went very well here 🙂
https://zonegfx.com/author/probably/March 24, 2023 at 5:42 PM #1946185@Warrant63 when will new update be ready ? and how much space do u get with Bunkr , Mega was 50 gb
March 24, 2023 at 8:26 PM #1946231@itsmenotyou Probably very soon, it's kinda just a plus entry on the image host whitelist.
On Bunkr, currently, only the max single filesize is limited -> 2GB (for registered users - you can manage your files)
If you stay in Anon mode it's 5GB, but it will be deleted after some time. -
