    So, this has been driving me nuts the past week. Everytime I load a saved scene or any asset for that matter, it bumps the SubD of my figures to 5 which causes the application to hang for obvious reason. I go and reset the SubD to the default 3, everything works normal again, save the scene, etc. But the next time I load the scene, it reverts it back to 5 again! Has anyone encountered this issue? If so, how did you fix it? It just started doing it a couple of days ago.

    That's an odd bug. I've never encountered it. I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't save your updated parameters...

    Did you change both "Subdivision Level" and "Render SubD Level"? They are normally linked in Daz, but can be de-linked by accidentally clicking the link icon in Parameters. Set Subdivision Level to 2 and Render SubD Level to 3, then save. See if that helps. Probably obvious, but also make sure both of those parameters are unlocked.

    Also check your hidden properties on the character. Turn on Show Hidden Properties in Preferences then scroll through the list of Currently Used parameters. Sometimes a poorly-tested, newly-installed character can change the base G8/G8.1 model, which will affect all models with that base. That normally wouldn't effect a scene that has been updated and saved, but it's worth investigating.

    Search the official Daz forums too if you haven't yet. Or maybe someone else here can help. Good luck!

    @enjoyify thanks for the response. I tried resetting the subd level and render to no avail. It would only take effect while the scene is open but once I save and reloading it, it just wants to sticky back to 5. This includes new and existing scenes created, it’s bizarre. I’ll look in the forums to see if others have had this same issue.

    Thanks for trying though, appreciate it!

    I think there might be something useful in here. The saving part...

    This doesn't affect me but I'm very interested why it's happening to you. Let us know if you figure out why.

    I'm actually facing the same problem. likely there's a problem with one of the products which could've overridden the default behaviour. but I haven't found out which yet.

    So, I think I got it resolved. One of the VOOTW characters I installed must have overwritten some of the default values as I noticed it was dialed up on the base figure. I deleted the files entirely, and it appears to have resolved it on new and existing scenes.

    I don't think its the actual VOOTW character that caused the problem, I may have done an ERC freeze and save modified asset while the SubD was dialed up by accident. Will never know for sure, but @slender331man suspicions helped a lot.

    Thanks everyone for the assist!

    @Diviniren may I know which VOOTW character is causing the problem? I might've installed it on my end as well.

    @Slender331man

    For me it was VO Xiao Mei. It appears to be a common issue too though not specific to the subd problem.

    @Diviniren Great detective work. Happy you found your issue.

    @Slender331man
    @Frank22 I recommend deleting all VOOTW products. I've solved so many issues by deleting VOOTW content from my libraries. VOOTW likes to use HIDDEN morphs that often modify the G8/G8.1 base characters. I really should have offered it up as one of the troubleshooting suggestions. VOOTW (and many RenderH*b) characters cause a lot of issues. It's so bad that VOOTW frequently removes broken products from the Daz store. As Diviniren linked, there are some Daz forum threads about it.

    Small update: so looks like that issue was resolved for all characters except the female 8.1 basic figure. On load it’s fine, but upon saving and reopening, an “add erc freeze” is appended to the file. I’m trying to figure out which controller is causing that. Will keep everyone posted.

    @enjoyify
    you’re absolutely right, I subsequently purged a couple more vootw chars and it appears to have fixed some additional issues with hidden morphs and defaults improperly overwriting my genesis base figures.

    It doesn't look like I have any VOOTW products installed @Enjoyify and I can confirm my G8/G8.1s are acting normally on load and saved scenes.
    And @Diviniren, please don't put live links directly to Daz in your posts.

    Weird, it anonymized before. I removed it now.

    thanks for the update @Enjoyify and @Diviniren.
    I'll just purge all of the VOOTW stuffs then, no need of them anyway. plus all of them are using the same texture sets over and over and over.
