Does this figure look disproportionately freakish
to you or is it just me?February 23, 2019 at 7:40 AM #971836It do look a bit.....disproportionate yes.
I do think the artist here kinda missed the target when making this kid character.
First, the head. Here, it look more like an adult head who the artist applied some "young face" morph on it than an base hand sculpted kid face. (ex: Rayn, Skyler, ect... or even Haley who is more of a preteen/young teen)Thus...although the head shape has some "young" quirk, it's still look like an adult "baby face". Which is a bit freakish yes. This is why i believe that....smile....is so scary.
Second....i don't know. It look like the artist wanted to make a chubby/pear/voluptuous/heavy kid. I don't know anything about diet, anatomy and how kid's body and physics work but....i don't think if a kids get chubby, they get chubby with a look like that. It seem off. Her limbs are really fat, but her shape are borderline just fleshy.
The more i look a it now, the more this character look like an adult which an imaginary device would have squish it's body like a sponge and compress it while keeping the same amount of mass and flesh. O.o
I think that artist kinda forgot to take account the factor of the growing and developpement of a young kid's body and how the anatomy of a human grow.Noneless, i think it still is a decent character. Not bad, but just not that great. Especially when you have other "young kid/teen" character out there who where far better made. (Refer to the name i quoted earlier.)
February 23, 2019 at 8:08 AM #971865My first impression was a female adult effected by dwarfism. Not that being a dwarf is a bad thing but I dont think that was the creators intention.
February 23, 2019 at 8:25 AM #971892It's a monster
February 23, 2019 at 9:20 AM #971969I think the broader proportions are okay but yes, it's an adult shrunk down. The muscle tone, facial features and expressions aren't those seen in children so it throws it off in your minds eye. Like those kid beauty pageant entrants. :shudder:
February 23, 2019 at 9:30 AM #971980Her head is too big (even though kids' heads ARE bigger, proportionally), her "chubbyness"/baby fat is wrongly proportioned, her teeth are way too big, and in general she hasn't been "youngified" enough in the face-area (her bone-structure is too adult, while the outer flesh is sort of not entirely fitting)
I'm fairly certain you could make this into a proper looking kid with some tweaks, but it would take a bit of work.
February 23, 2019 at 1:29 PM #972181Think Id rather scale it up to maybe young adult than to try and make it a functioning kid.
February 23, 2019 at 6:10 PM #972459While talking about kid that look like shrunked adult.
Here is another "good" example of a kid character which i believe the artist missed completly the boat. -_^Check this out @d0gg0d : LITTLE DEWY for Genesis 3 Female(s)

P.S: At the limit, i would say here the body isn't bad. It do look like a small kid. But that head though.......O.o
February 23, 2019 at 6:24 PM #972474Yeah thats pretty awful. Should really be some kind of quality control on venders.
February 23, 2019 at 9:39 PM #972619Yeah those proportions are off, it's unfortunate because in some ways this actually matches up with real life better than many others. It may be due to it being the same creator for the majority of child models but they tend to look like toothpicks with a grape stuck on the top.
