Yeah, it's been 20 for a long while now, still not sure where people gripe about how many points everything awards, or how many you get, it's all free. at no point do you need to spend money to get products, unless you really want to share your purchases, which while we appreciate, is probably not l3g@l (lol, i'd love to see if everybody's purchased daz items are actually posted here, post your store list). If you really want products faster than you can get them for free, buy them from Daz?
Like ive said before, KAT never rewarded anyone. People shared for their own hidden reasons. Since this is more of a community and people converse more, I was hoping that rather than points, rewards would be on the merit system. Also, contests could be rewarded an item a week before its posted ect...
I dont think the system is broken since its worked so far BUT, the reason we have 4k TVs is someone wasnt happy with B+W tubes.
Anything can be improved. A reward system that is an actual reward vs gfxcoin would be a nice idea to try out. Im just tosding bones but, IMHO it would be cool.I am no great fan of the points system , but as I see it, other than the over inflated contest prize values of late, the points system works quite well in terms of rewarding input / uploads, which is what the site is primarily about.
Guilty as Charged. That was me - getting rid of some excessive points by NOT putting up bounties nor spending them on characters here. I can understand the necessity to make this site a repository for content. However, like I asked myself (and some actual artists pointed out to me) "What the heck am I doing with all these characters?!?" Well, other than hoarding them, absolutely nothing - and I don't need to plead the fifth.
But this site is MORE THAN JUST ANOTHER PIRATE'S COVE! It's a place for Art Lovers. To not only share content, but bring awareness to 3D Art and encourage artists to stay focused (because my attention span is shot as well). If you want to see what artists are doing with the content here because you only look at the pictures, then may I suggest you visit the Forums tab (https://zonegfx.com/forums/) From there, you can look at the Art showcase, the free resource tab and even the Art Competition.
Speaking of Art Competition, the voting thread for Mix is already made available here:
(https://zonegfx.com/forums/topic/mixed-voting/) So don't be ashamed or discouraged to do something else here besides sharing. I truly believe this site to be quite unique and serves a greater purpose. I'd hate to ever consider that the content shared here is merely digital media. It is Art. You can either share art while it's still in it's digital (potential) form OR you can do something productive with it (exponential). To the great people that actually share content here, I personally want to thank you Very much for being so generous. And to those that share your art on this site I personally want to thank you very much for being so generous as well.
See? I'm doing something with content I acquire.
