Hypothetical scenario re: New Request System

Let's say I have a request on the forum (which is now read only).

Let's say I or someone else opens a new request for the same item using the new system and I place my offer there as well.

Let's say the request (new system) is filled and subsequently disappears.

Normally, I would mark my request (on the forum) as filled by using the strikethrough effect on my post but since the forum is now read only, that would not be possible. Is there a system in place or a best practice to indicate that an offer/request on the forum has been filled? This would avoid any potential misunderstandings from arising should anyone fill the forum post later.

IMO They need to remove the old request forum now that we have the new one.

I discovered that it is possible to edit one's original posts in the Old Request forum to indicate that an item has been filled.
