Just upped some REPOSTs, and thought I had the link-killing/breaking figured out. (Put them in brackets, or change a couple characters in the URL, like "h**ps://" instead of "https", etc. ...or so I thought.)
So following the new posts the links are still live, regardless? How?

Example of what the goal was (is):

Camila Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female

    Dead source link. Text only.

One of my recent blog posts:

VDB Smoke Trails with Missile for Iray [REPOST]

Fully live link, regardless of precautions to try and break it.
What am I doing wrong? And how is the other (first) link accomplishing link-breaking even though fully typed correctly? Is this in the body of the blog post and not in the link field? And I thought the link field was a required field otherwise cannot post it?

    Sorry for dumb Qs, but,
    - Confused

(For those not privy, I -and others- have made it a personal point to no longer live link directly to the "Sites Of Concern" -SOC- to help minimize Zone traffic from-to, where possible, due to the referer issue(s). Part of the "best practices" thing.)

hum nice question..If i may I will post some links here( Of the same page) and alter bit bij bit
For one I never use the "http//"if I type a URl...

This does still open the site
    "daz3d.com/vdb-smoke-trails-with-missile-for-iray

This does not open the site
    "vdb-smoke-trails-with-missile-for-iray"

you could instruct downloaders to ad "daz3d.com/" in there browser adres space
But then they will have to open the link first, and therefore not come from the zone directly.
It might be bit messy, but till some better option comes around...

Not sure if markup works in the blog posts, but you can try using code markup.. enclosing the URL between ` should show it as a code block.. but might not work out in the blog..

EDIT: I've just added a few blog posts with the URL in code markup.. lets see how they come up when the posts go live..

EDIT II: Adding code markup didn't work out in the blog 🙁

Maybe more people would take a look if you change the title to "Making plain text URL in blog" or something like that.. 🙂

Using brackets around direct links will break hyperlink, or you could just leave out the http. In my browser (Brave) I can drag non-http links into a new tab and they'll still open fine.
