    Hello everyone,

Since i'm still totaly a moron about how Daz Studio work (but i'm trying to get better at it!), i'm here today asking for tip and help again. This time, it's about my graphic card.

    Here is the thing:

I've heard that if you "uncheck" CPU and only "check" GPU in the advanced tab of the rending setting, it can help you relief the stress and the burden of a render on your cpu memory core by making you graphic card do the work instead. Letting you that way the possibility to do "other thing" on your computer while not freezing it or slowing it too much.

But my problem is...when i'm trying to do that, my render don't render anymore! All i get is a black screen. (Checking the CPU back fix the problem though)
While searching some forum tip, i have heard that it sometime do that when Daz Studio don't support my graphic card. So...here i am now. How or where can i find a place to see if Daz Studio really support my graphic card ?

This is currently the setting i'm using:

    - Daz studio 4.9.2.70 Pro (64 bits)
    - Using Iray Engine for render
    - Graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Since my card is fairly new, i'm sure it has the power to render alone no problem, but i'm suspicious that it may also be the reason why Daz studio don't support it.

I've also found in the log file that there is indeed an error with it.

"WARNING: dzneuraymgr.cpp(261): Iray WARNING - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.0 IRAY rend warn : GPU 1 (GeForce GTX 1060 6GB) with CUDA compute capability 6.1 cannot be used by iray.

WARNING: dzneuraymgr.cpp(261): Iray WARNING - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.0 IRAY rend warn : There is no GPU available to the iray renderer."

If someone know that my graphic card is supported by Daz studio, can someone tip me on what i must do to make it work so i can only render with my GPU alone ?

Thank you for the help in advance.

Maybe simply update to the latest Daz3D and NVidia drivers. My Studio is 4.9.4.122. Latest drivers are 388.13.

As @irsnout said, definitely update Daz, that build is 18 months old according to a Google search. I'm using a GTX970 so a 1060 should be supported and the fact that it's appearing in your selection screen would lend itself to the fact that it's being recognised. So it's probably just driver or software error. Update everything.

    Ok, i'll try updating Daz.
It's true that since i'm always using it "offline" and turned the automatic update off, i never updated it. I just hope updating it wont't change all my current setting in daz or something like that.

Also, my graphic card drivers was already up to date too with the 388.13.

Sorry for the double post, but i didn't find an "edit" button near my previous message to edit my post. (Is this even a thing possible here on this forum ?!?!?)

Just to say that i have updated Daz studio's version to it's latest build (4.10 something something) and that TOTALY did the trick!
It work now! I can now render with using only my Graphic card. No more black screen.

Also i don't know how, but my render are like a zillion time faster. (A render of 750 iteration that took me an hour and a half before now only take me a dozen minutes!!!!)
Could it be that since the start, Daz studio was only using my CPU to render my scene and my graphic card wasn't used ?!?!?

Wow....i'm....flabbergasted. I should have asked for help a long time ago!

You peoples here just changed my whole life. Thank you everyone!

I'm eternally gratefull to you two!

Yeah you were rendering with the CPU only, and it's slow as hell compared to GPU. IRay is tuned for GPU rendering. And the more of it you have, the faster it is! 🙂

    Glad we could help!
