everything we get is at least ten years old, you probable think AI is new tech also..lol
It's more like 30 years. A lot of things that have been developed have been around for decades before they become "consumer" products available to the public. Sometimes due to extreme testing to make sure they are safe, etc. Other times, for their own benefit they keep to themselves, to better their own position, when they have something the competetion does not, or various other reasons. Things like microwave ovens, etc. Had been around long before they became common household items.
February 28, 2025 at 6:18 PM #2119721I'm in no position to debate the technological aspects of what is and isn't released but I'm of the opinion its shared more often and is more accessible than it used to be.
Supposedly tech was outdated in 5 years then eventually 3. Now its probably 1 year or less. Once something hits the production line something else better has already been invented.
While nothing spectacular, this amazed me when I first saw it released. Think of what it actually could do if dialed up a few notches.
February 28, 2025 at 8:58 PM #2119740@d0gg0d Absolutely, that has been around for decades, the ADS. There are updated versions as well. It works based on 5g waves (microwave ovens use similar) and they cook you, basically. Yeah, the same 5g that certain organizations say "you're crazy, its harmless, its just internet".
Anyway, way back (about 30 years) they were using this. So even though people are aware now, its been around decades and used in the Iraq war in the 90s. Remember the phony BS news reports saying "the US just played loud rock music from the speakers and the enemy just dropped their weapons and ran and hid".. Yeah, this is why they RAN.
March 1, 2025 at 6:43 AM #2119789I seem to remember focused sound being experimented on as a weapon but maybe I'm just thinking about Dune.
Watch a movie called "Toys" with Robin Williams. Pretty much predicted drone warfare. Some may not like it but I thought it was a decent movie. It's kinda campy but not in a stupid way.
March 1, 2025 at 7:55 AM #2119799well, some in here seems to have problems to distinguish between ideas and their technical realization. having ideas is easy, but make it work is a whole other thing ...
