I'm considering the possibility that the artist mixed 3D and AI

If its RuiDx I'd be very surprised, I think he's very anti-AI as people were using AI to clone his work. Be worth asking them if you have a contact

Also they are too consistent to be AI. Maybe something he imported into DAZ from blender
