    I am good i didn't think it was a dig at me i was just trying to go through my process and explain what i was thinking I was going to wait till it was over but i closed the barn door after the horse got out, this is a fun thing and I enjoy making movie posters for movies that are not real, I also made it large enough on purpose it is 37.5 by 56.25 inches same size as a standard poster, I used that 3d thing the way i did as i wanted it to fit in to the theme it made no sense to try it any other way, i thought about maybe put it on the helo but decided against it I try to approach things so people can see what i am thinking about when i create, I lurk here way more then I post but thats just me. Oh and i saw that last one literally at 3am on the last day and I was like naww sleep needs to happen first.

    A Tombstone was the obvious pick for name integration, I'd have made a "Lewdite Residence" plaque if I hadn't been crunched on time because I was moving homes since that "username integration" was a fun unique part of the contest. The Luigi model was a sloppy game rip and needed a lot of vertex tweaking. Lines have to be drawn *somewhere*, by everyone for everything and my submission definitely skirted this requirement so I'll own it.

    (I also used Blender and its 3D Text function as per @Kefka's clarification of intent, VIOLATION but really I used this as a time-sensitive excuse to execute an idea from *last* Halloween.)

    Aside, great respect for all pre-bones animators, posing vertices manually is not fun. Finally accepted that "it's still necessary sometimes" since the model ripper used Rigify and went to bed (raising a knee much dented Luigi's entire torso, face was completely unrigged too). Every day I'm reminded nothing gets done until you get impatient and do it yourself, always.
    Vertex tweaking to undent Luigi's torso I have no mouth and I must scream

    Honestly didn't take as long as feared, worth doing just to finish odd one-off renders like this.

    @tunamcbutter You are welcome to vote (Just not on your own render) or you can refrain.

    Up to your top 5 or as little as a single nod.

    @enjoyify
    Thanks for being my custodian and my promoter. 😛

    @spats
    You are definitely allowed to vote.

    @frank22
    My contest was your first skip. I feel like a failure.

    @recktat19
    I failed you all with ambiguous and multiple contest rules.

    @larry-lewdite
    I commend you for using non-daz characters and shoddily boned rips. 😛

    As such, I've decided to give 1k points to anyone that entered. (Top 4 ranked submissions excluded)

    Not all participants managed to cope with the night rendering.

    1. Adelasia - is technically the best night render
    2. Madmungo - funny and memorable scene, good casting
    3. 1138adrianmartinez - is a great idea for the scene, but there was almost not enough focus on the main characters.

    @kefka You didn't fail us. This was actually my favorite contest so far. A very open theme with what I thought were very simple and clear rules. I think what is occurring is that in the spirit of competition such a simple requirement has ended up the vector to discuss eligibility and the like. In my last message though I feel my minimizing of that rule may have come off as putting down its inclusion or a slight towards you. I apologize for that.

    Being someone (That I feel) followed the rule I'd have loved to disqualify some competitors for it. After all, very high quality renders submitted were ones that were unable to use the RealLogo product to add their names, my chances would've definitely been higher if we did. Though human error is a real thing, I'd personally prefer to celebrate the creativity that existed in the first place that made them forget to sign their names than fight them over it. I love the render competitions. I'd be setting them up myself if I could.

    Again, Thank you @kefka for this contest, in my favorite season and my favorite theme!
    You did a great job coordinating. Thank you everyone who contributed and the regulars who single handedly keep contests going by offering points or participating (you know who you are 😉). I look forward to future contests.

    Thank you for the kind words @d0gg0d

    The vampire is a slightly modded Tasha 8 with her vampire textures. Nose and mouth are widened to make her appear more animalistic. Face and arm/hand vascularity dialed in. Expression is mostly a combo of angry and snarl.

    The girl is a heavily dial-spun bluejaunte Amira with her textures. The expression is mostly afraid with a hint of angry.

    My take is the logo had to be incorporated in the render to keep someone from using a 5-year-old render and slapping a name on it. Thats how I perceived it. Thats how I made my image. Thats how I voted. As I said, some of the images were Excellent and I liked them BUT if they didn't follow the rule according to how "I" interpreted it then I didn't vote for them. I didn't drop names so if you fall into this category then silence is golden. Some didn't even bother to include a name.
    I try to make it a point to review the rules a couple times looking for things like resolution requirements, things not to do, things to do, etc... The contest runner has the ultimate say and I dont want to detract from their kindness in running the contest and I want them to leave on a high note.

    @recktat19 LOL. I didn't take an grief over what you said. Take it easy, brah. 😂

    @d0gg0d
    I'm glad you abide by the rules. I'm also happy you incorporated your voting system in accordance, but bygones my brother.

    I'm just glad we can all bond??!? together in the spirit of this wonderful holiday week with some beautiful renders.

    On that note I was really hoping for an EPIC Día de los Muertos parade type render. Maybe next year? hahaha

    I want to share the process of work. I'm glad someone liked it. I spent two days off and considered several options. I wanted to recreate one of the scenes of the film - "The Crow" or my own vision. I found all the materials that I needed to implement, but everything depended on my old friend (computer). He let me down, but I'm still glad I took part. I had to simplify the scene and remove some details so that the render would not reset. There was supposed to be a dancing girl (his beloved) in the scene...

    I must admit that in my work I use my own characters, which I create based on my own old drawings. In fact, this character has different hair (dreadlocks) and there is a connection with the other world. I just adapted it for this particular scene.

    Before, I was afraid to participate in competitions because I had to work at low settings. But then I decided that I shouldn't be afraid of it. Everyone does what they can...

    P.S. I will refrain from voting because it is difficult for me to choose works (determine places). However, I want to note the work done by @Adelasia. It is close to my creative spirit :). And I also really like close-ups, like @Titan3d and filled with magic, like Jinx @Ehrez work...

    Happy Halloween and good luck to everyone!

    Thanks Twiggi @Adelasia @Larry-Lewdite and others for sharing insights into your work! It's fascinating learning how you all approach these contests. @Twiggi hopefully the beloved dancing girl will make an appearance in a future contest!

    For my part, I've always been a fan of the Italian painter Caravaggio. I'm no art historian or critic, but something about his works have always captivated me. I love his use of darkness and black, and the expressions of his figures are timeless. So I did a "sinful" twist on his painting Saint Francis of Assisi in Ecstasy.

    Lately I've been practicing with darkness and night scenes, so this was a chance to further explore that. I also wanted to capture the mysteriousness that Caravaggio uses in the very-dark parts of his paintings -- here being the left-side figures nearly completely in black and the Heavenly/Hellish/celestial lights that (I believe) are reflecting off of a lake. The emotionally moving, yet somewhat indefinable expressions of his figures was very difficult to capture with G8.1. I made many attempts to dial in those expressions, so I hope they were not (even more) offensive to the work I was emulating! 😅

    Times up! I'll tally and give my impressions soon, along with my pick for personal favorite. Just so everyone knows, I believe you all when you say it was your render and it was made especially for this contest. Don't fret what others may say, even if your username is tiny or it non-existent.

    You all did well. You all will receive your prize points. You all are good people. Take care for now.
