Not really into rendering guys but I figured Id give it a go after the latest posts.
Problem with this one is noise and I rendered it to small. Other than those 2 things Im open to criticism since I know thats a problem already.
June 4, 2018 at 6:12 AM #628665Not sure why the host is shrinking the image.
June 4, 2018 at 8:33 AM #628809I like it. Very cool. Plain, simple.
June 4, 2018 at 10:23 AM #628894Brilliant render i love the contrast between the glossy pillar and floor vs the matt skin of the guy
I would have brightened the pic up a bit to make him pop as the background pulls your eyes to it
But thats just my opinion as im a lighting whore more than 3 for meJune 4, 2018 at 1:48 PM #629055Thanks, I darkened it a little in PS so ill mess with it again and try a dif host.
June 7, 2018 at 12:32 AM #631841June 7, 2018 at 2:39 AM #631947Is that dforce working on that toga/robe/whatever? It clings weird to his torso and around his waist. The torso is really static, his arms are just held at his side, as though he's just stopped in mid stride and really doesn't like being rendered. Thinking about it, this actually works but I think you might need to lead the viewer to realise this, maybe make him angrier? The vinyl like effect you've got going on the stonework is weird but I kind of like the way the light plays off it and it's reflections, but maybe a whiter colour would pop the figure from the background? I really like your light set up but I think it would look better with more figures in the scene, I know it will make it more complicated but people moving around behind him and adding more shadows and reflections might bring even more drama to his confrontational gaze.
June 7, 2018 at 4:32 AM #632023Agree with most everything. It is this way because im lazy and just wanted to render a guy. Stone is polished marble shader so it will be shiny but it could be toned down. Clothes are Dforce. Still experimenting with this and getting mixed results. I didnt want any more figures. Wanted all the attention on the guy. I wanted as much white as possible. Lighting is an open door with a very bright HDR I kicked up to about 5. Pose and face are just presets I clicked on. Not quality work overall. Just ok.
