Guide on Installing Iclone8.6 and CC5

After a long wait got these full patch. New patches works well if you follow steps.

1. Backup previous contents also you can rename it to stop software from modifying those.(custom folders)
2. Disable antivirus and turn off Internet
3. Install cc5 and ic 8.6 do not run or open. Close "Reallusion host service" if running <you can check in task manager>
4. Install patches for both
5. Then open file location and replace cc5, ic8.6, Morph creater file with medicine provided
6. Replace program data. (Provided in meta data)
7. Run registry file (provided in meta data)
8. Run host block file as Run as administrator.
9. Go to services > find "RL host services " double click on that, change startup type from automatic to disable.
10. Block cc5 and ic8.6 in firewall.

I tried the two above, and it's been the first time I've been able to get any version 8 not to get stuck on the 'smart content screen. However I cannot get any character or prop (template or custom).Everything has what looks like a green cloud symbol (?) in the top right corner and if I click on it, it justs wants to go onto the internet (which I disconnected).

I suspect my problem are the last few instructions.
6. If your templates are not installed in the default folder: open lnk_change.ps1 (with Notepad) from the "Changing Links Target" folder and change $newPrefix = "G:\Reallusion" to the path of your folder.

I am not sure what this instruction means. The install of iClone8 created 'Reallusion Custom' and 'Reallusion Template', in the folder c:\users\public\public documents\reallusion\ Is this what is refered to as the 'Default folder'??

I tried putting some props from an older iClone7 copy and the do show up in the content manager when I manually copy them to :\users\public\public documents\reallusion\Reallusion Template\

Other than that it doesn't seem like there is ANY free working content. I saw you can get some freebie content, but that of course would require an internet connection 🙁

To avoid being repetitive, I’ll just join Chester’s tests and the result is the same. I don’t have an internet connection, I added accessories, and still can’t get them to appear in the content manager. There’s something we’re not understanding correctly or something missing in the installation process explanation.
Please help us solve the problem since I feel I'm close to achieving it.

I also tried several different methods, but I couldn't get the program to work properly. The **Content** panel is still locked and keeps asking for an internet connection.

I started by downloading:

and followed all the installation steps exactly as instructed.

Then I downloaded:

I downloaded it and copied the files according to the instructions. However, one of the steps says:

> "Delete all files in folder C:\ProgramData\Reallusion\ and copy/paste the new files."

Wouldn't deleting everything in that folder remove the installation I had just completed?

Because of that, I decided to leave the existing files in place and simply copy the new ones over them. Could that be the reason why it isn't working? (I completed the other steps as instructed.)

Since that didn't solve the problem, I downloaded the update from this link:

Unfortunately, nothing changed.

If anyone could explain the correct installation process step by step, or even share an unlisted video tutorial, I would really appreciate it.

"How can I activate smart content?"
I say classic question because the classic answer from the post creator is
'silence.'
I say silence because their installation explanation doesn’t work, and that’s where it ended.
