Always said it and will say it again you dont need a 200 million $$ budget to make a great movie. Not sure what "Blade Runner 2" budget was but Im guessing a lot more that 1 and it was one of the most boring drawn out disappointments since the crystal skull.
However a big budget done right is great. I was pleasantly surprised with Infinity War.
Its up there with the 1st iron Man and Avengers. DC is so far behind in story and quality Id be surprised if they make anything better than Dark Knight and Heath Ledger carried that movie. Wonder Woman was good not great and I think that was a fluke.Allow me to disagree about Blade Runner 2, I was not disappointed at all. In spite of some weak spots the mood is right and is in tune with the first movie (but with a normal post 2000 twist). It is true that it probably appealled most to aficionados. Well I generally hate superheroes movies (and particularly Ironman) while I tend to love Villeneuve ("Prisoners" being its greatest work).
81% of viewers liked it. Im guessing 1/3 of those never seen the original. 4 out of 4 people i know that watched it hated it. So in your taste it was good. Thats fine. I think the villian was lame and the story predictable. I also think it pales greatly when compared to the original and the time they had to come up with a number 2. I also think ALL the new Star Wars movies suck but at least about half of the fans agree with me. These new movies show a few gas bombs some T+A or just green milk oozing from nipples and ice faries to make a block buster. I talked to a guy today that disliked Infinity Wars. So thats why there are like 200 ice cream flavors.
