Getting Warnings/Notifications about ZoneGFX from Norton Each Day

Each day when I visit this site and click on a post, Norton has started giving me trojan warnings.

I'm not concerned because it's reporting it as having been blocked but I'm wondering if something is fishy or if it's a false positive and why.

The filename changes from day to day, I suppose depending on the post I click, but since it's been happening for a couple of weeks now, I'm starting to get concerned.

I haven't let Norton anywhere near my system for over a decade & never will again.

The version I used I found it effectively took over my computer.

Awful invasive software.

I've found that some antivirus programs are knuckling under to pressure from content owners and media companies to label places like this as dangerous and full of everything bad. My AVG goes ballistic here, including links to the picture hosts. Norton is almost certainly doing the same thing.

I haven't used an antivirus program since Windows XP. I've never had a virus on my computer.

Start with a clean system and your programs. DO NOT INSTALL AN ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM:

Make a backup of your computer.
Install an antivirus program. Run it, and if there are no viruses, restore your computer from your backup.

When installing new programs, install a virus scanner and check your computer. If there are no viruses, restore your backup, install the new program, and make another backup of your computer.

If there are viruses, restore your backup and do not install the infected program.

This way, you will have several backups. Of course, this is intended for people who don't try out new programs every hour.

I would agree with you, but the listed links are not coming from zonegfx.com, but i.postimg.cc which is an image posting site, supposedly like imgur, though I'd personally never heard of it until I started getting those warnings.

I didn't intend for this to become a referendum on AV software in general and Norton inparticular, which I will freely admit can be annoying at times, particularly the firewall (it asked me to approve practically every connection every day until I disabled it) but I personally feel the benefits far outweigh the annoyances. I use Norton because McAfee is the real performance killer.

My intent was to somehow inform the admins on this site that this was happening in case there actually was an issue, but I couldn't find a Contact Us link or admin list.

.. postimg.cc is an alias of postimages.org which is one of the image hosting sites allowed on the Zone..

.. and to be honest.. almost all of the av software out there are bs..

.But you're still using AV software that slows down your computer. I know people who have two or even three scanners running.
