As the title reads, are Genesis 8 poses compatible with Genesis 3, or will the poses leave Genesis 3 contorted? I'm starting to see a lot of content, especially, over at renderotica that's been built for Genesis 8, which doesn't appear to have been created for Genesis 3 as well. Which is a damn shame...
It seems vendors are tossing Genesis 3 to the wayside now and focusing on building content exclusive to genesis 8.
There's a couple products on the market that will convert poses from Genesis 8 to Genesis 3:
Bone Doctor - This has a script that converts G8 poses to G3, and they turn out pretty well. Despite the script in question being labeled for G8F, it also works perfectly for G8M.
Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Pose Converter - This also has a process to convert poses. I have not used it, because I find Bone Doctor works better for my purposes, but Zev0's stuff tends to be top shelf. It was recently updated with G8M compatibility, which AFAIK has not been posted to ZGFX (which is why I'm not linking it here for now). Unlike Bone Doctor, it has a Pose Corrector script for both G8 and G3, but I find Bone Doctor does a fairly good job of getting the pose conversion right on the first try.
The only things that don't seem to carry over are smart props and their placement, presumably due to G8's default "A-Pose". Clothing from Genesis 8 can also be converted and used with little to no issues; SickleYield has a tutorial on their DeviantArt page that was also copy/pasted here, too.
This post reminds me; I ought to update my master post for multi-generational compatability products, lmao. Life's just gotten in the way bad, and the last thing I've ever thought about was keeping that obsessively updated (and I was waiting to see what would come out for Genesis 8, too). XP
