Daz staff did not learn from their own history. They went from a Omnimesh Genesis to Genesis 2, 3, and 8. I would say that Genesis 8 was their very best and most popular base, lasting over 5 years. Wake up Daz, Genesis 8 is proven, it works. The others only lasted 2 years.
From Google:
Daz 3D's first Genesis, a revolutionary base mesh system, was launched in 2011.
Daz 3D's Genesis 2 Male (G2M) was released on November 21, 2013.
Daz Genesis 3 figures were first released in June 2015.
Daz 3D's Genesis 8 figure was released in June 2017.
Daz 3D's Genesis 9 was released in mid-October 2022.Two years is up for Genesis 9. It's time to dump it for something better. I never liked it, and I never will. And I never want to see androgynous dudes in promos meant for chicks ever again.

August 30, 2025 at 10:22 PM #2143326G8 is like Vicky Four, still well liked and supported. Whenever I buy a Gee-ate item I always thank the creator. I also like to message the artist who's made a G9 product that I like and ask them to please port it to G8. When they say no I politely tell them that they've lost a sale.
October 17, 2025 at 8:26 AM #2149317Interesting results coming up in the current 'Hub Poll, considering it is three years on from G9 release.
The question being 'Which is the best Genesis Generation?'
Genesis 8 65%
Genesis 9 19%
Everything else is an 'also ran' in comparison.
TBH I'm surprised Genesis 3 isn't performing better.
🙂
October 17, 2025 at 1:46 PM #2149345Even with all the valid arguments saying why they wont have a Genesis 10 anytime soon, here's the most valid reason why the probably WILL:
An influx of $$$$$$$$!!
They make their bucks on content. And when new Genesis versions come out, EVERYTHING that ever existed (so it seems) gets ported over to the new Genesis, like lightning (and for sale). All utilities, clothings and models get updated and rolled out. Tons of sales and tons of bucks. It's far easier for artists, too, to crank out already created items in an updated version because the creative thinking parts are already done and they are replicating. Its a cash grab for all involved.
October 17, 2025 at 2:39 PM #2149356I loved using Genesis 3 for the longest time... it loads almost instantly, renders ultra fast, and the morph dials are basic, but still very usable. I still use it as background figures in heavy scenes due to their lighter system and GPU load.
October 18, 2025 at 1:23 AM #2149411I think Daz will use the same playbook with G9 as G8. OmniSkin shader is already in Daz so they will launch G9.1 first with OmniSkin just like G8.1 with PBRSkin. G10 will stay with OmniSkin and come out a couple of years later.
October 18, 2025 at 9:29 AM #2149449I really hope they drop the androgenous base mesh & go back to male & female versions.
