G9 shapes and texture on G8F

There are a lot of nice G9 characters around, but I am still with G8F. So here are couple of questions:

1. Can G9 shapes be used on G8F?
2. What about G9 textures? I know about "Genesis 9 UVs for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Female", nut not sure how good this is,specially with genitalia mats.
3. What about G9 expression on G8? This one seems impossible as far as i know.

Yes, G9 can be used on G8/8.1 but it has to be converted. Some people around here have successfully done it but I have not so I couldn't say how much work is involved although it appears to be quite a project. There are some youtube videos you can search for that explain the process.

I don't know about the textures but I would imagine at the very least you could manually convert them through photoshop and apply them. Again, search and you might find a tutorial on this.

Expressions most likely too much of a hassle but I really don't know for sure.

My take on it is this.
I agree there are some very nice looking G9 characters these days, that I would like to see on G8F / 8.1F.
Although the skin textures are nominally of a higher quality, they add a lot of bloat, and the main benefit is just for close up / portraits, so if you don't do those I feel there is very little point in porting them over. There are also a lot of decent quality G8 skins available from existing characters that look great.
It seems a lot of merchants do very little / nothing with the body morphing, so not much point in porting that over either.

So that leaves just the head morph.
If there was a scripted G9 to G8 character converter that just did that, preferably without having to install all the G9 bloat, I would be very pleased. It is extremely unlikely that it would come from official sources, but I do think that there would be a market for it. I would certainly buy it. I know there are often issues with the eyes which can be problematic.

@eelgoo, my thought exactly. I put off using G8.1F/G9 because they didn't offer that much for me. But there are some new G9 texture (looklike ones) that caught my eye and would love to use them on G8F. I don't use close up that much and downscale textures from 4k to 2k generally to save space.

As for shape, I don't care about body shape, It's the head that's I am after. From my experience to get a good likeliness you need both head morph + textures.

I agree with that, but I think it viable to use an appropriate G8 texture, rather than faff about converting a G9 one.
