I think quite a number of us are in the same boat on not using G9 straight away yet. simply because G8/G8.1 is pretty sufficient in terms of quality and contents. I can wait until G9 is fully "matured", or basically --- PAs ask for money again to fix G9.
Agree, I am in no rush to use G9 as well. I do adore the level of detail in the skin textures though and I would love to utilize them in my renders. But the lack of tools or addons and the persisting problems with hair and clothing are making me wait patiently.
Once these problems are solved I will propably sooner or later transfer my characters to G9. I tried it with one character and it worked very well. Even the eye positioning turned out to be quite simple in the end.
