So if anyone on here has known me over the years, you can tell I love Star Wars. Every few years like the ghost of Christmas past I will pop up and ask if anyone has any new Star Wars for DAZ products, items, props, costumes, characters, environments, and so on and go on a hunt through ZoneGFX itself.

So I decided that I would give back to those that have helped me and begin a thread with the Free, Paid, or Point buys Star Wars themed or Star Wars resources I have found and keep seeking to share with others.

If you know of a Star Wars DAZ Studio compatible item that I have not yet listed, please let me know and I will add it.

As always, you are encouraged to purchase items directly from the artists themselves if possible, or after to show appreciation for the item when you can afford it.

However my fan boy status has limits.
Any movie with maRey Sue never happened.
Solo was a bad dream. Anything before Disney is canon and after Disney is optional.

Been looking for either a modified existing product or a custom jedi robe for G8 M+F. Any shared settings for Saber blades that work well.

I don't care how bad or how good a movie or series or show based on Star Wars is. I like them all, even if I am not enthused about certain aspects of lore, stories, or shorts-- because I adore that Star Wars keeps delighting and sparking the imagination of young and old alike throughout generations.

However...Mocking the hell out of the Christmas special is 100% alright. And also Mark Hamil's German advertisement for Star Wars :p lol.

Otherwise, I am not at all impressed with the Star Wars fandom tossing out toxic behavior and apparently spending more time hating on aspects of the lore and franchise than sharing what they love about it. I will never understand how some people can claim to love something in one breath, and then absolutely spew vitriolic hatred about the same thing they say they love in one breath.

So anyway, tl:dr: You like Star Wars? You're a true fan!

(I was born in '78. My husband is older and watched the 1st in a movie theater. I don't know why that matters. But there's a thing to know :p )

@D0gg0d I don't have anything I can recall off the top of my head that would work for G8 M/F as a jedi robe. Is there a script that lets you convert g3 clothing to G8, because if my memory serves, there were a LOT of great "fantasy" hooded cloaks that could work great as a jedi robe with texture and surface changes. Might want to play around there.

As for Saber settings, that I did find (some), though no idea if it's to date or not, meant to tinker with these later:

Some random advice about Lightsaber "glow":

Make sure you have the Bloom filter ON, and also use some kind of environment, even an HDR will be enough, for the bloom to show.

I love Pizza. I do not love Pizza with squid toppings.
I love a good homecooked hamburger. I do not like it cooked till its charcoal.
I do not like the assassination of Luke Skywalkers Character or rewriting the entire history and canon of the Star Wars Universe. Disney SW isn't SW its people pushing something they wanted to do that didn't belong into a well loved franchise. What puzzles me is how someone could love their car so much they wash it every weekend and when the neighborhood kids key it they see it as an improvement.

The Mandalorians and the spin offs from it may save SW but if you support what was done to franchise then you are strong with the Dark Side and may like the Ghostbusters Reboot as well as the Terminator Reboot.

If it matters I'm over 50 and have watch all the originals when they came out at well as all of the prequals. I skipped the last 2 after seeing E7 in the theater. I only own them because I purchased them for $10 on blu ray.

I own several boxes of the original toys and have purchased several of the FX lightsabers. Would like a complete collection.

I've played the West End RPG and still have the books. I've only read a few paperbacks and own several of the comics as well as magazines printed before most of the people here were born. So that's part of my SW resume. regardless of how qualified I am for the job, the new movies still sucked.

Thanks for looking and making the thread. sorry to be a stick in the mud but, I am disgusted with Disney's treatment of SW and people trying to defend it.

I've found that putting a LS blade inside another blade works well. I set the internal blade to white/near white since the center is the brightest spot on the blade and the outer shell to whatever color I want. Unfortunately I rarely save settings to refer to later.

I've tried messing with some of the cloaks on Daz but haven't found one I liked so far. Only reason I've considered Marvelous designer is to make a robe. there are several patterns online.

I'm in the same demographic boat as Adam (which explains my 'nym).

I remember going to the theater personally in May 1977 and watching what I still consider to be "the original Star Wars" (yes, Ep. IV, yadda). I think I watched it six times that week, burning through a year's worth of allowance to do it. I read all the novels I could get my hands on (and there were a ton of them!) - I read them voraciously (it was a guilty bit of pulp pleasure among the SciFi/Fantasy greats like Asimov, Heinlein, Guin, Dick, Ore, and the offbeat stuff like Donaldson's Thomas The Unbeliever series...)

So back to Star Wars. Eps. IV - VI were, IMHO, the best of breed. Eps. I-III started okay, then became increasingly, well... sort of less tolerable. Still okay overall, though it could have used more Chewbacca and less Jar-Jar, if you know what I'm saying.

Not even going to bother with the abortion that Disney performed on the franchise with the series best called Star Wars: Rise Of The Mary Sue*. It made me genuinely sad to see it die such a horrid death.

Some of the spinoffs were pretty cool, though they could've been better - Mandalorian was okay, Solo was okay...

Here's the thing - I love the universe the story sat in. The tech, the grungy and seamier side of it, the elegance, the massive tech, the casual familiarity everyone seemed to have with the technology, the wild variety of sentient beings...

It truly is a good canvas to work upon.

I tend to not use it personally, mostly because I don't want to be Yet Another Fanboy. If it helps, I feel the same about Star Trek, which is another universe I could really dive into (and to be fair, that franchise got sodomized good and hard in later years as well...)

Love the style, tech, and 'verse. If someone re-made Eps VII - IX, I'd be happy with forgetting that the ones Disney made never existed.

Then again, you know? Maybe skip the big franchises? I'd love to see someone re-create and get up some CG mesh for Firefly...

(* Bit of irony here, since the 'Mary Sue' trope spawned from a Star Trek fanfic. No joke.)

I don't think I get to dictate or gatekeep what a fan is or isn't, or what people like--so long as it is a) legal, harms none, and is between consenting adults.

I think it's perfectly valid for person 1 to not like _x_ while person 2 loves _x_. Neither person 1 nor 2 gets to dictate how they should like or dislike a Thing. Both are valid. But, I am going to steer myself back to my original intent and topic for this thread personally, which is Star Wars/ SW-Like DAZ content.

I used to try and use the cloaks from MFD bundles and tinker. Otherwise finding a good Jedi/Sith like/Star Wars-y robe or hooded cloak is an issue I run into a lot, and wish I was talented enough to make my own too.

I'm 53. Fan of Old Trek and SW. Fan of several 80s - 90s movies.
Terminator, The Thing, Ghostbusters, Blade Runner, Princes Bride, Legend, Aliens.

Others stuff: Invader Zim, Thunder Cats, Last Air Bender, D+D cartoon, Futurama
Almost all the Marvel movies. Most of Dr Who. DC seems to be getting better with the Suicide Squad 2.

Favorite comic was Silver Surfer for awhile. Now would probably be something like Hellboy or Sandman. Dont read comics much now.

Really like The Boys series and a warming up to Mandalorians.

My heart is with the original 3 SW movies and most of the lore established in the Expanded Universe while Lucas ran things. BEFORE he went full retard with midichlorians. Startrek before they turned Khan into space Jesus and Kirk into a raving idiot. The current trend with crapping on the past because people cant come up with an original idea if it punched them in the balls has gotten me disenchanted with current Hollywood. There are a few exceptions but mostly its a cluster f@##. It would be simple to make a completely different version of SW or ST using different characters. New Gen did it. mandalorians did it. There is no need to destroy something to make it better. Unless you make an omelet
