So, now that I learned a little bit more about Character Creator 3.32 and SkinGen, I wanted to offer you a comparative render between RareStone Fredda HD in DAZ and CC3 both at the same resolution [1080x1080]. I am also using the same HDR image for IBL, but I had to resize the head in CC3 by +30%.
DAZ Render [Render Time 13min and 20sec] [she looked so much better in promos!]
Character Creator 3 Render [Render Time 1 second]
Overall, I would say that:
DAZ PROS:
- Loads of Accessories/Clothing/Tattoos/Characters/Hair
- Hair Looks good [and very customizable] [dForce still sucks, even on a powerful PC],DAZ CONS:
- Clunky
- No animation (just...don't).
- dForce super slow
- Super slow character interaction due to morph loading.Character Creator3/iClone PROS:
- Modern and intuitive UI
- Amazing Skin and Morphs customization
- Great Real-Time render engine
- Great for animation, body and face capture, lip synch
- Supports LOD meshes (for Crowds)Character Creator3/iClone CONS:
- Abysmal Hair
- Fur, as in...no fur!
- Animated FX seems to be for games (PopcornFX), not for FilmSo, is there a program that has it all?

January 24, 2021 at 4:21 pm #1660917The things I dislike in Daz are the interactions between figures. It is so hard to make a character poke another character. You need to use smoothing modifier which as most of you know is a pain in the ass to use on actual skin to skin contact. Most of the times you will not get the desired effect.
The Dforce on most products is also a pain in the ass in terms of how heavy it is, so it's better not to use it most of the times.
The animations could be better, but if you plan on doing a simple loop animations Daz is just fine to do that. But if you want a more commplex ones, then probably not.
The loading times suck so much. 5 minutes to load a figure in is not acceptable.
But I still prefer Daz. It's just way more faster to do scenes in there than other programs. Huge library with huge choice and fast posing. Iray engine is great as well and gets better with each new update of Daz Studio.

Texture wise, also don't look the same.
What i'm seeing comparing both:
Daz renders the eyes way better, CC3+ eyes just look off.
on a smaller scale, Daz rendered more of Normal/bump map compared to CC3+.
Daz version still has much more reflection going on, whereas the CC3+ version lacks more of it.All-by-All, the CC3+ version lacks alot more than DAZ.
the CC3+ version to me also in terms of shape looks way too different compared to the Daz version, especially around the mouth/nose area.
Impressive that it took 2 seconds in CC3+, but both those characters are visually not on par with each other.
