Anyone else have mysteriously vanishing files? Figure that were fine before, but one day you load them and something is missing?
In my case it's been (character name)EyesB_1007.jpg. Every time. It doesn't appear to cause actual issues, but it's pretty annoying and eats up load time. I've switched computers and reinstalled Daz and it's still going on.
Just curious if I'm the only one since Google brought up nothing.

Is it only with a specific character? Which character is it? I'll check it out.
March 21, 2022 at 2:17 PM #1786846@Trader , No, it's happened with several. Off the top of my head Huston and quite a few SASE/JASA/FWSA characters. I haven't messed with too many others lately to see if it's affected more than that.

I don't know Huston, is it character by either SASE/JASA/FWSA? If so, it might be a problem with a common merchant resource used by Sabby.

I found a merchant resource by sabby that includes a FWSAEyesFXEyesB_1007.jpg file. Maybe he referenced it by mistake. It happens all the time when it's not tested in a clean database. Are you sure that everytime it asks a different name before the EyesB_1007.jpg part or the same exact? If it's the same, you can just install the merchantt resource or delete the reference from the character and save it.
March 21, 2022 at 3:40 PM #1786867So far, I've found Emrys and Sabby characters are mostly affected - and it's always the eyes
March 21, 2022 at 5:59 PM #1786932I've had this occasionally, and even recently.
The funny part is, I go to find the file manually, it is actually there.
I haven't figured out what causes it, but I just load the texture in the material manually and problem is solved.March 21, 2022 at 6:49 PM #1786953And Houston is an Emrys character, low and behold lol. That is so weird. I wonder what causes this, it's not like a file is going to roll under the bed or fall behind the dryer.

It's so strange. I can't replicate the problem with Houston. I checked all dufs and there's no reference to EyesB_1007, only to EyesB_1006.
Nothing in the log file either, really weird but my runtime is completely empty so it's a clean environment.March 21, 2022 at 9:19 PM #1787006I used him three or four times before the issue popped up. I tried looking for the file the first time it happened, but couldn't find it. Since it didn't seem to cause a noticeable issue, I didn't bother searching again.
March 22, 2022 at 3:50 PM #1787214The worst part about it? The entire path is right there to lead you to it, no typos, no extra spaces, no extra slashes or characters...
Maybe the dog took it out for a short walk while we weren't looking...

https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/551656/daz-4-20-missing-files
It appears to be a typo in one of the character files (A // instead of a / ).
