As mentioned before, Filament is for animators who want to do quick and dirty animations. It isn't for those wanting realistic still images, nor intended for that. The irony is that they spend so much time fucking around with it trying to get the shaders and lighting to look acceptable, they may as well render their animations in 3DL.
