Hi Guys
This is one of my favorite works i made. Its a Flyer i made for an Psytrance Open Air Festival. I tryed to make a cute look and realised that this is not so easy to do. Most of the Toon Characters have too realistic looks or they look too much like a Toy. The Look i wanted is like they do in CGI Disney Movies. Cute and Stylized.
------------------------------Software used: Daz3d Iray render. Photoshop. I often use the Photoshop 3d for Text. Here i also added the Fox and the Duck as obj into photoshop.
Crazy Bump for additional Texture (Today i use Bitmap2 from Allegorhytmic)Daz Content:
The Girl is Toon Generation Female.....(made out of many morphs i have. I remember that i used the youth/age morphs to make her look younger).Mythical Dragon (Daz)
Island Grandma Kiki Mora (www.renderosity.com)
Moon Island (www.renderosity.com)
if you have any other question or need a name of an other product just feel free to ask, i will try to find an answer.
Cheers

Also,it feels very different compared to a typical Iray render(especially the full length portrait). Did you paint over some bits/did other post-processing in Photoshop or its just because of the way you use the lights? Or am I just high? XD
P.s: Thanks for the full size image. It's a visual treat.March 10, 2018 at 3:59 AM #525461Thanks AG97
Jess i always do alot of postwork in Photoshop!
On the Image with only the Girl i painted on the Ears to give a stronger sss effect. Then i often dublicate the image two times and make one image brighter and the other darker. I then put a mask on these layers and paint back only the parts i want. This way i can add some more depht. I also make some selective sharpening and sometimes i paint over parts with a color and change the Layer to Color...then blend it a bit over the main layer to harmonize the colors. Most of the time i don't use depht of field in the render. I prefere to make it after with photoshop and sometimes i need to do a depht pass render.
In the last stage i often use the Exposure plugin which have awsome effects like Vignette, blur, noise etc. A bit of noise and some nice color tweaks in Exposure over the whole image can bring back some nice analog feeling to the clean digital style of our artworks.Really...often my Renders and the Image ofter Postwork are like Night and Day! 🙂
...leme search for the Render without post processing...
Cheers

March 10, 2018 at 11:04 PM #526538@psygameboy As you said, Night and day;and yes the analog look in your render is what I dig the most:)Thanks a lot for sharing your postwork and the before-after.
March 11, 2018 at 12:38 AM #526604Nice work. There’s a lot of personal info on that flyer you may not want to be sharing on a piracy website.
