That was the cherry on top of another theft that happened a year before the storage one. Someone stole my car, and even though I reported it to the dealership, they still tried to blame me for it. By reporting it to the dealership I mean the car was not driveable, and I begged the dealership to come pick it up before someone decided to steal it. Well, someone did steal it. Since I was a bit too far away from the proper authorities, I let the dealership handle calling the police to file a report. But the dealership reported me as the car thief instead of the person who was a victim. (WTF?) The cops even did a stakeout by my parents house to see if I would drive it to their door, which would never happen because I hadn't lived with them since the early 90s, and I didn't have the car. (WTF! again?) They had moved to a place that I'd never visited. I'd never even seen their house until long after the car was gone. Nothing ever came from that either. I suspect someone broke it down and sold it as parts. There's probably pieces of it in several other cars all over the place. That's an even longer story though. I get the distinct feeling that someone at the time did not like the idea of me moving away and wanted to hurt me in any way possible. Even to the point of taking my car away and then breaking into my storage to steal my belongings. Which is why I really find it hard to trust people anymore. It blows my mind that there are so many people who just can't say "OK, I don't like your decision, but I respect it" and move on. They just can't come to grips with it, they have to control others and prevent them from making their own decisions, or retaliate when someone does make their own decision. It just disturbs me to no end.
