Yeh the CD is honest enough to examine his own hypercritical viewpoint of today's film industry in relation to himself, but not too closely. Not that many people would like to put our own character and MO under the microscope. I agree with 99% of what he says about what comes out of movieland today.... woefully poor acting and childish scripts, but RL for most of us is so boring and desolate I guess we'll accept any facile piece of shit to escape that fact for 90 minutes.

I came to a point Ive never anticipated I would see. I can only think of 2 shows I would like to see the next season of and I cant name one movie I'm looking forward to. Most video games are broken mess that take months to patch. The current state of PC culture makes me want to go into a coma and wake up when its over. I'm in the process of adopting a child and the legal system is so broken they wouldn't know they shyt themselves unless someone emailed them. I have eventually came to understand why people don't give a F%$& any more.

There are a few things that take my mind off that and messing with Daz is one of those. Ive other outlets but its one reason I guess I'm a bit frustrated with some situations here.

The Drinker recommended Puss and Boots last Wish and I actually enjoyed it. Far from perfect and probably worst than I think it was but, in today's market its a ray of sunshine.

Wow good luck Adam with your adoption.
Nowadays government workers and other assorted bureaucrats have to spend a lot of time covering their asses as I well know. If you don't then someone will make some random accusation and it's off to the races. Not making excuses in your case of course just sayin' it's tough all around even when you want to help..

I gave up on Hollywood stuff.
The South Koreans had to reboot their film industry in the 90s when they got rid of the dictatorship they were living under. A lot of the movies I saw from back then had a fresh feel to them.

The general commitment to making interesting movies is easy to see and feel.
Over the years the movies have gotten slicker and gotten more attention.

I don't use Netflix at all because I already saw a lot of the older things they bring out and a lot of the newer stuff they are financing is not that hot.
YouTube has a Korean cinema channel where you can watch some oldies and I have been able to BT a lot of stuff.

This is no help in finding American movies, I know, but if you really want to see something worthwhile, it's out there...

    @gremmie

When the video store purge happened, Stores sold movies for $1-5 a pop and Id walk out with $50-100 out of each store. I got tons of random foreign movies and older movies people looked over. That got me even more interested in collecting odd and random stuff. I don't buy as much crazy stuff as I use to but every so often Ill give something a chance.

2 movies I didn't expect to like but did were

Could you name the movies you are linking to?
All the links have to go through the anonymiser thingy

I am interested to see what you are pointing at

@d0gg0d Pretty cool selection of movies there. I liked baxter and r-point and dead alive is one of my mandatory must-watch at least once per year or so. Foreign horror and comedies is big-time in my world. Check out Asian movie called Bio-Zombie if you liked dead alive, you might enjoy that.

all those are pretty good, too. Especially the Re-Animator and all of Stuart Gordon/Brian Yuzna stuff. And Society was a great one from Yuzna.
