I downloaded both versions of FaceGen available here. The cracks won't install. Or maybe I'm not using them right.

    What is the usual procedure?

I have it working with no problems.

    1. Install
    2. Replace with crack
    3. Run
    4. Block with Firewall.

Just make sure you copy the cracked .exe to the correct location, if it doesnt ask you to overite the original installed file, you are in the wrong location.

    This is what I'm doing.:

    1. Click on FaceGen application.
    2. It installs fine.
    3. Click on Crack.
    4. I get this message:

    FaceGen Error

    HA!

I figured out what I was doing wrong. I though the crack was an installer. I didn't know to copy it to the file and replace the .exe. DUH!

So, what is with the firewall, and how do I do it?

You can open windows advanced firewall, by typing it in the start menu. Then simply add an outbound rule to block facegen program. Personally I use Windows Firewall Control by bini-soft, which makes it a lot easier to handle outbound connections, since you can configure it to throw up notifications. Not exactly a tool for complete beginners though.

If you want or need a great firewall tool try Zone Alarm. It is free, they want an email address after installing but you don't have to give them one.

With it you can block individual programs from accessing the internet. There are several other management tools and all are easy to use. Did I mention the best part, "It's Free!"
